Trader Posted February 16, 2011 #51 Posted February 16, 2011 The superTenere looks like it was meant for a sporty "enduro" style ride. Meant to take it anywhere. The riding position is not much different from a first gen....but can't imagine putting a back rest and hiway pegs on it any more than on a crotch rocket!! As to style? The bags looke like equipment cases someone stuck on as an afterthought!
ragtop69gs Posted February 16, 2011 #52 Posted February 16, 2011 Looked to me as though they are going for the BMW ST look. I could not ride it with that riding position, that's why I don't have a crotch rocket.
Morev4 Posted May 4, 2015 #53 Posted May 4, 2015 Funny when I bought my new 99 on May1 ,1999 it seemed like a cutting edge but yet a simple bike. N0 new Wing or Ultra yet, heck I was still using cassette tapes. I can't believe that with the bike only discontinued a couple years ago Mama Yama is doing this. Oh well I am going to run my 4 Ventures into the ground and then get a convertible and travel the Country with my 26 year old wife, when I'm 75, so no matter. Don't tell Diane about the 26 year old wife, I want to keep that a secret from her until I invent that time machine she will be involved in testing.
Silverado6x6 Posted May 15, 2015 #54 Posted May 15, 2015 I have a notion of just buying a new Vmax and with my skills i can take the fairing from any of my Ventures and make the Vmax into a touring bike. A slap in the face to Yamaha, a challenge.
