ti-lou Posted January 16, 2011 #1 Posted January 16, 2011 In 2007 I bought a new RSV until this time I had'nt any problem. Recently I had a problem whith the fuel pump, it doesn't work anymore ! Could you please confirm Yamaha will honour the 5 years warranty? I'll await your reply as soon as possible before ordering new part at my own cost. Thank you for your time. At the same time, where could I find the entire specifications of this 5 years warranty?
BuckShot Posted January 16, 2011 #2 Posted January 16, 2011 From past post--it should be covered under warrenty. Someone with a 2nd gen should pipe in soon and be able to tell you more
bongobobny Posted January 16, 2011 #3 Posted January 16, 2011 Yah!! If the dealer gives you any flack, go to a different one. They should not care if you bought it from them or not as their service department gets paid from Mother Yami regardless...
bongobobny Posted January 16, 2011 #4 Posted January 16, 2011 Oops, just saw you are from Canada. Not 100% sure on whether the 5 year is just a US thing or an International thing...
Kirby Posted January 16, 2011 #5 Posted January 16, 2011 Yah!! If the dealer gives you any flack, go to a different one. They should not care if you bought it from them or not as their service department gets paid from Mother Yami regardless... Yea! What he said.
relic Posted January 16, 2011 #6 Posted January 16, 2011 5 year warranty. It will be covered so have the dealer do the work. Do not order the part or they may not cover it without going through a dealer.
37 bell Posted January 16, 2011 #7 Posted January 16, 2011 I have a 06 rsv and my fuel pump went out in 09. I took it to the dealer and they put a new one and the warranty was good. I didn't have any problem with the warranty. this was in the states.don't know about Canada:301:
RandyR Posted January 17, 2011 #8 Posted January 17, 2011 One caution that Canada dealers provide warranty support on bikes sold new in Canada and USa dealers on bikes sold new in the USA.
sarges46 Posted January 17, 2011 #9 Posted January 17, 2011 so if you buy a US bike and live in Canada you will have to get the work done in the US. The warranty is still good down there but you might have a little bit of a problem finding a dealer to work on it in the US. If you go to the Yamaha Canada sight and pull up the RSV....the warranty is listed right there as a major selling point. (US site as well).
bongobobny Posted January 17, 2011 #10 Posted January 17, 2011 Our local dealer, Pioneer Motorsports, will work on bikes bought in US but owned in Canada, no prob. Being from Quebec, I'm betting he got it in Canada...
Mike G in SC Posted January 17, 2011 #11 Posted January 17, 2011 The fuel pump on my RSTD was replaced under the 5 year warranty. Do it before it runs out.
