I just got my V-Twin clamps and have fabricated mounting brackets for the RK Classic muffler (# 98a) install. My ? is, are there exhaust gaskets that i need to purchase?

Are there exhaust gaskets at all? I want to make sure I have everthing before I start the change out.

Thanks,

Byron

No need for gaskets. slip them on and clamp them down. Rod

Yep .... clean the mating surfaces with some emery paper first and that's all there is to it.

not really too much to tackle - should be able to swap out in about an hour, including a beverage break

heh ... I was going to say 1/2 hr (without the beverage break)

did you get thumb screws for your bags yet ?? - cheap and really speeds up any job including cleanup

Would there be any issues with not being able to get these tight enough so they won't vibrate loose? Don't want a bag to come loose.

For those thinking of doing the RK pipes install, I have found the V-Twin Clamps at Howard's Customs, $27.22 for the set, which includes shipping. It was the cheapest place I could find.

I recently installed a set of RK pipes on my bike and I love the sound. Reminds me of a small V-8 with Flowmaster mufflers, nice low rumble. I didn't remove any of the baffle plates.
