mmkleine Posted January 3, 2011 #1 Posted January 3, 2011 Has anyone purchased a Premeux Fairing or Hoppe fairing and if so, How did it effect the handling of the bike? Thanks
mountainhorsega Posted January 3, 2011 #2 Posted January 3, 2011 the same shape as the harley fairing. We have a streetglide fairing and it does have some effect after about 95mph. At around 100 it will start dancing a little. I believe the angle of the fairing and the size of the shield has an impact. I think it is being caused by slight wind differences pushing one side or the other as you move through the air. I almost never run over 100 so, it doesn't bother me - Below 95, don't notice any difference from the TD windshield. I know you asked specifically about the 2 brands but, I think they are very close to the same shape.
hunter 1500 Posted January 3, 2011 #3 Posted January 3, 2011 I don't really notice much difference at all.
tsigwing Posted January 8, 2011 #4 Posted January 8, 2011 Has anyone purchased a Premeux Fairing or Hoppe fairing and if so, How did it effect the handling of the bike? Thanks No difference in handling, but your hands will really appreciate it, especially in the winter.
Officer Dave Posted January 15, 2011 #5 Posted January 15, 2011 Can anyone give me some info on the following audio fairings. Firstly the Quadzilla from Hoope Industries and the Bat Wing from Wide Open Plastics. I am wondering which is the best way to go for my 2005 RSTD. Was also looking at the Rumble Road speaker system with 200watt amp, any help?????
1joeranger Posted January 15, 2011 #6 Posted January 15, 2011 I also own a 05 RSTD and installed these:http://www.gooddeals18.com/category/motorcycle_audio/ They have been on my bike for almost 2 yrs, sound good and have done well in the elements. Looked at "The Wave" http://www.saddleshades.us/products.php but thought $650 was insane. Still would love to hear about them! I know this doesn't give you fairing info but thought you'd want all options! Have this picture of a Batwing on our bike but not sure where it came from? Just liked the look!
Officer Dave Posted January 16, 2011 #7 Posted January 16, 2011 Thanks Joe I looked at the web page for good deals and I think the Shark 600 watt system is just what I need. It comes with 2 speakers and a nice high power small size amp. Sent an e-mail to them to see if it would all work with the fairing a good head deck and run of my I POD Touch:Venture:
azuogu1 Posted January 17, 2011 #8 Posted January 17, 2011 I have a Hoppe Quadzilla Fairing on my RSTD 2006 and I love it, I have not noticed any change in the handling. Here are the specs, and if you do buy one get it from www.phatperformanceparts.com it is about $350 cheaper than buying it from Hoppe directly Hoppe Industries "Quadzilla" Fairing - Royal Star Tour Deluxe [Hoppe-12V:None] [Hoppe-Chrome:None] [Hoppe-iPod:Ipod CD5030] [Hoppe-MJ:Mini Jack Aux. Input] [Hoppe-Paint:None] [Hoppe-Radio:Eclipse CD5030] [Hoppe-Remote:Wireless Remote] [Hoppe-Sirius:None] [Hoppe-Trim:None] [Hoppe-WS:8" Light Tint] I have also attached some pix below
bluerstd08 Posted January 19, 2011 #9 Posted January 19, 2011 I didnt install a Hoppe of Premeux, but I did put an HD fairing on. I took some modification, but the fairing, stereo, paint, windshield and brackets all together has yet to break $400.00. My hands are loving me this winter. I still have the cut outs to make the brackets if anyone is interested. I dont notice any difference unless I go over 100mph which is very rare because cruise wont work past 85.
Officer Dave Posted January 19, 2011 #10 Posted January 19, 2011 :Venture:can anyone give me some info on the Shark Audio 600 watts system from gooddeals http://www.gooddeals18.com/product/SHKSHRD5800/600-watt-motorcycle-yacht-audio-music-system-w-5-spks.html does anyone know if this system is as good as they lead you to believe. Also any info on DC Gold Speakers http://dcgold.com/products/classic-line/n5c/ either the N5C or the N4C.
