Sideoftheroad Posted December 31, 2010 #1 Posted December 31, 2010 $200 to spend on bike goodies, what would you spend it on?
Scooter Bob Posted December 31, 2010 #2 Posted December 31, 2010 You could get a Utopia Backrest... http://www.utpr.com/rsv.html Just my , Scooter Bob
Guest Posted December 31, 2010 #3 Posted December 31, 2010 200 bucks aint much. It would really depend on what you need the most. Chrome? Lighting? Mufflers? For a little over 200 bucks I would say a Clearview windshield with a vent. Or a set of Kury highway pegs.
bongobobny Posted December 31, 2010 #5 Posted December 31, 2010 Gas!!!!! As far aS GOODIES go, add a zero to the amount and ask again...
Scooter Bob Posted December 31, 2010 #6 Posted December 31, 2010 add a zero to the amount and ask again... That extra zero might be enough for a downpayment on that third wheel, hey Bob:mo money:
Guest Ken8143 Posted December 31, 2010 #7 Posted December 31, 2010 Stebel air horns! Triple set. Front, middle, and back. Wuup-wuup sireen. Voice activated horn button so when I need to swear all heck breaks loose. That is my heart's desire.
Freebird Posted December 31, 2010 #8 Posted December 31, 2010 Well...I don't know if this is a general question or if you are asking specifically about what to add to your bike. I see that you ride a '99 and I don't know what you already have on it. If I was starting with a clean slate on a completely stock bike though, my first two recommendations would be.... Drivers backrest Kuryakyn highway pegs. After that...there are a ton of things but those are the two most important in my opinion.
Brake Pad Posted December 31, 2010 #9 Posted December 31, 2010 Screw the Bike, I'd take my wife out for Stone Crabs
Guest Posted December 31, 2010 #10 Posted December 31, 2010 Screw the Bike, I'd take my wife out for Stone Crabs There's something quite not right with that statement........
bj66 Posted December 31, 2010 #11 Posted December 31, 2010 I was gonna say ice cream. I consider that an accessory!
friesman Posted December 31, 2010 #13 Posted December 31, 2010 Screw the Bike, I'd take my wife out for Stone Crabs It does seem awfully twisted up doesnt it, Ruffy...:rotf: Brian
Brake Pad Posted December 31, 2010 #14 Posted December 31, 2010 Its that I care more for my wife, then I do the bike. and seeing her happy, makes me happy. Giving is what makes me happy.:mo money:
1joeranger Posted December 31, 2010 #15 Posted December 31, 2010 Bike first, women second, staying warm third!!!!
Flyinfool Posted December 31, 2010 #16 Posted December 31, 2010 I would put it either towards a backrest or trailer.
Sideoftheroad Posted December 31, 2010 Author #17 Posted December 31, 2010 (edited) Well most of what was mentioned I have already. I can say when I bought it, it was already nicely dressed. Brake Pad, sumthin' just ain't right about that statement. LOL Utopia Backrest - Got a backrest although not sure if it is Utopia. Does have an option for a pocket in the back? Clearview windshield with a vent - check Kury highway pegs - got grips, not pegs. If I remember right Kury just has the shift pegs. I am waiting for them to also have the matching brake pad. heated gloves or a jacket - There's an idea too. Stebel air horns - check-although needs replaced. Been thinking about doing Fiam horns in the fairing. Voice activated horn button - hmmmm. :-) ice cream - Bingo!!! (harbor freight) trailer - check My Baron's tach went out this year, thought about replacing it and then doing Ponch's gauge set. Been thinking about front/back LED turn signals from custom dynamics but hoping at some point they will do a free shipping promo. Got a card from STAR about order $350 in accessories or apparrel (doesn't apply to parts) and get $100 off. I could dish out the extra $50 but I looked at the catalog and nothing really jumps out at me that I would want. Too bad they don't make those air cleaner covers anymore. I probably would have gone for those. How much does it cost for one of those VMAX baskets? Edited December 31, 2010 by Sideoftheroad
bongobobny Posted December 31, 2010 #18 Posted December 31, 2010 Funny you should mention the Star card, I spent $359 on Safety Chrome today!! I'm running out of OEM accessories to buy, though...
bongobobny Posted December 31, 2010 #20 Posted December 31, 2010 No, it has to be a STAR accessory...
straycatt Posted December 31, 2010 #21 Posted December 31, 2010 New fork springs/seals/slider bushings/oil/etc to freshen up the front end.
Brake Pad Posted January 1, 2011 #22 Posted January 1, 2011 CD Changer for the saddle bag, at least it will help pay the taxes on it..LOL...
Sideoftheroad Posted January 1, 2011 Author #23 Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) Bob, what safety chrome did you buy? PB&J, I have thought about a kevlar jacket straycat, like progressive fork springs? Brake Pad, I have the cd changer. I took it out after about a month. I got tired of all the skipping. Someone said you can adjust the buffer but I couldn`t figure it out so I gave up. Do you know if it can be adjusted? Edited January 1, 2011 by Sideoftheroad
straycatt Posted January 1, 2011 #24 Posted January 1, 2011 Progressive, Sonic, Race Tech, take your pick. You can completely freshen up and improve the front end of an RSV for less than $200. (assuming, of course, that you already have the tools/jack/adapter/know how to do it yourself)
1joeranger Posted January 1, 2011 #25 Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) Helmet to helmet/biker communication. Don't know much about them except I think they are expensive. http://www.cardosystems.com/scala-rider/scala-rider-q2 Light bar for RSTD http://www.chromeworld.com/ProductDetails/ProductDetails.aspx?pid={157a816a-bf18-4300-99d6-868b479189b8}&gid={b150df75-276d-498a-b805-0be7925aadef}&GroupName=Yamaha+Royal+Star+Venture+%20Lights&pname=Kuryakyn+Constellation+Driving+Light+%20Bar&Referer=&Alias=&ptct=SGR-SR&CTitle= Edited January 1, 2011 by 1joeranger copy corrected link
