RedRider Posted February 1, 2011 #26 Posted February 1, 2011 Thanks for hosting scooter Bob I am planning on being there. I've tried to get there the last 2 years but the times just didn't work, but I have this day on my calender already. So how does this work do we just bring along the parts that we think we'll need? Should i let you know what I'm hoping to do to my 2nd Gen? I don't think it needs much I only have about 15000 miles on it, what do you all recommend, any advice would be appreciated Thanks Jeff Bob, You are going to save a fortune on name tags. RR
Scooter Bob Posted February 1, 2011 Author #27 Posted February 1, 2011 Bob, You are going to save a fortune on name tags. RR It's gonna have to be a nicknames only weekend just to keep track of 'em all.
eusa1 Posted February 2, 2011 #28 Posted February 2, 2011 i would love to make it to your md, but i'm not sure i will be able to after the weekend at freebirds. how many folks from the area are going to freebirds and what day are you leaving towards ohio? might be cool to group together for the ride out there?? mike.
Scooter Bob Posted February 2, 2011 Author #29 Posted February 2, 2011 i would love to make it to your md, but i'm not sure i will be able to after the weekend at freebirds. You may need to come up here and fix everything you shook loose on those bumpy Illinois roads on the way to Ohio. Oh wait, you're from IL, sorry. We'd love to see you guys again if you can sneak up here. Later, Scooter Bob
eusa1 Posted February 2, 2011 #30 Posted February 2, 2011 they invented locktite because of our roads and our governors..... you going to freebirds?
Flyinfool Posted February 2, 2011 #31 Posted February 2, 2011 I'm in the same boat. After going to Ohio I am not sure if I can sneak out a second weekend in a row. Either financially or time with the better half wise. At least if I dont make it, it will reduce the number of Jeffs to deal with.
Scooter Bob Posted February 2, 2011 Author #32 Posted February 2, 2011 you going to freebirds? No, but I think FlyinFool is planning on it.

Won't cost you much here, and you're welcome to bring the better half. Oh, I've got a plan fer dealin' with all the Jeff's, don't worry 'bout dat. Later, Scooter Bob

Since the Jeffs will be managing the dunk tank, that means we get to decide who goes in it.
Flyinfool Posted March 14, 2011 #39 Posted March 14, 2011 After the M&E, the better half is considering trying a ride on the bike. Will have to get her a helmet and some decent shoes, she only has stupid girl shoes. Then I get to learn how to adjust the rear shock air pressure and shock rate. It has been at least 15 years since I have had a passenger on the back. If we make it up there we will have to get back home early enough to let the Killer dog out. If it is just me making it up there, then there are more possibilities.
IH Truck Guy Posted March 14, 2011 #40 Posted March 14, 2011 , she only has stupid girl shoes. .:rotfl: Shari wore boots with a heel for alot of years... She now favors a boot with no heel... It's all about the comfort and not the syle..
Scooter Bob Posted April 3, 2011 Author #41 Posted April 3, 2011 Ok, I'm back from vacation, time to start getting ready for this. I'm going to pick up some steel, and try out my new auto-darkening welding helmet I picked on the way to Flyin'fools M&E a few weeks ago and make a lift adapter or two. I also want to get the new bar area built in the garage, and need to do a lot of cleaning and straitening as well. Harbor Freight doesn't sell the bike tire changers anymore, but I do have a friend a few miles down the road with one. If anyone wants to do tires, let me know, and I'll see what we can work out. May just have to pull rims, throw them in the truck and take them down there, if I haven't got my own by then. Later, Scooter Bob

Rick Haywood Posted April 3, 2011 #43 Posted April 3, 2011 Can a couple from Illinois sneak in as long as we behave and bring beer? If so I believe the wife and I will take a trip up your way. Rick

If so I believe the wife and I will take a trip up your way. Rick You bet Rick. Just let me know what kind of accomadations you're after. We have tent space here, also floor space if you have an air mattress, and there are motels in two different towns about 10 miles away. Later, Scooter Bob Edited April 3, 2011 by Scooter Bob added floor space info
Scooter Bob Posted April 3, 2011 Author #45 Posted April 3, 2011 Hey Bob, There are some on Flea-bay here that don't look to bad? Bryan Thanks Bryan for the info. Looks like the only one that would do the whole job is that 3rd one from the bottom($289), and that looks just like the one Kregerdoodle has. They've also done a few mods to it to make it work better. Later, Scooter Bob

Scooter Bob Posted April 10, 2011 Author #47 Posted April 10, 2011 Great strides made today and last night in getting the garage ready for the big event. http://184.72.239.143/mu/a6b54084-ff65-cf7a.jpg http://184.72.239.143/mu/a6b54084-ff7f-36ad.jpg Later, Scooter Bob
Flyinfool Posted April 10, 2011 #48 Posted April 10, 2011 Lookin good. I'm still tryin to figure out how to escape 3 weekends in a row.
Moped Posted April 10, 2011 #49 Posted April 10, 2011 Looks like a good job on the carpentry. Some work now but the way you have it setup, looks like in the future all you have to do is leave the vehicles in the driveway and it's party time. O by the way make sure you leave some space for the Ten High.
Scooter Bob Posted April 10, 2011 Author #50 Posted April 10, 2011 (edited) Looks like a good job on the carpentry. Thanks, I had to make sure it would hold up when Bubber and IH Truck Guy get into it over which gen is faster! http://tapa.tk/mu/a6b54049-2034-d2b8.jpg Just needs a little trim work, some good paint on the step, lacquer on the top, and put in the stainless kick panels, and it's good to go! We can't wait for the fun to begin! Later, Scooter Bob Edited April 10, 2011 by Scooter Bob
