Guest jet man Posted November 11, 2007 #3 Posted November 11, 2007 I am still wearing mine from time to time. It has gone through several changes since I came in originally in 1981. I am now a reservist and a civil servant for the USAFR, but still get to put it on from time to time. I stay pretty physically fit, so for me putting on the uniform is not to bad. When I came in I was 19 and weighed 118lbs, now I am 45 in a few days and a healthier 170lbs. The scary part though is training babies; i have kids that I train younger than my daughter, boy am I getting older or are they just coming in younger and younger. (I was never that young was I) jet man:superman:
6pak Posted November 11, 2007 #4 Posted November 11, 2007 I wish!!! I was about 30 lbs. lighter. And 15 years younger.
Gray Ghost Posted November 11, 2007 #5 Posted November 11, 2007 I can still fit mine, and in a couple of weeks I will wear it to a third basic training graduation for one of my sons. Then a couple of months later, I hope to be wearing it at his graduation from OCS.
IH Truck Guy Posted November 11, 2007 #6 Posted November 11, 2007 One big thank-you to all our veterans out there. Thanks for your service to our country...:cool10:
oldandcrotchety Posted November 11, 2007 #7 Posted November 11, 2007 No way, Jose! Back when I was in the army (1969-76) I was 30 inches in the waist and now I'm 36 inches in the waist and probably 40 lbs heavier.
cbmel Posted November 11, 2007 #8 Posted November 11, 2007 Can I still fit in it? Sure! Muffin-tops are in, right?? I'm pretty sure the boots still fit. Anything other than that...all bets are off!
eagleeye Posted November 11, 2007 #9 Posted November 11, 2007 Hipshot, I want pics!!!!!!!!!!! Can I fit into my navy dress blues? :rotf::rotf: You've got to be kidding. Even my 1975 black leather jacket shrunk on me. The hat is a possiblility. Steve
KiteSquid Posted November 11, 2007 #10 Posted November 11, 2007 A few years ago, I purchased a new set of pants for my Service Dress Blues. The old ones wore out.......in the closet.....Yeah, that's what happened.

Guest Boomerbiker Posted November 11, 2007 #14 Posted November 11, 2007 November 11 has always been a special day for me. I was in the Air Force - 69 - 73, but Veterans Day is also my birthday and this year was the big 60! Time to ride.
frankems2000 Posted November 12, 2007 #15 Posted November 12, 2007 NO WAY ! Then 29 waist - 120 lbs. Now 38 waist - 190 lbs. Happy Veterans Day ! U.S.A.F Vietnam- Oct 67- Oct 68
Thom Posted November 12, 2007 #17 Posted November 12, 2007 where is that ignore button ??? :rotfl: the boss lady is still laughing
Venturous Randy Posted November 12, 2007 #18 Posted November 12, 2007 I gained about a pound a month while in the Air Force for four years. I got out and lost about half what I gained. Then I started to college and gained 60 pounds. Since then a few more pounds. Yeah, I can wear my hat, but I do still have my dress blues, just for the heck of it. RandyA
Rattlesnake Posted November 12, 2007 #19 Posted November 12, 2007 Both my Dress Blues and Dress Greens Still fit but unlike some of the others I know in this family I still weigh about the same as as 25 years ago just gone up 1 inch in the waist
Rattlesnake Posted November 12, 2007 #20 Posted November 12, 2007 As a matter of fact I will wear dress Greens again tomorrow (Mon.) For the County wide service and as a member of the Honor Guard Have to wear them on a regular basis.

Black Owl Posted November 12, 2007 #23 Posted November 12, 2007 I thought it was just the Highland Regiments (Queens own Cameron, Black Watch, Sea Forth Highlanders, etc.) that had "dress" uniforms...
Rocket Posted November 12, 2007 #24 Posted November 12, 2007 I thought it was just the Highland Regiments (Queens own Cameron, Black Watch, Sea Forth Highlanders, etc.) that had "dress" uniforms... Seen some of those, wearing their skirts yesterday...........:stirthepot:
Black Owl Posted November 12, 2007 #25 Posted November 12, 2007 Seen some of those, wearing their skirts yesterday...........:stirthepot: You are absolutely correct sir. And my apologies to the Highlanders. They are skirts and not really dresses......
