Guest Ken8143 Posted December 22, 2010 Share #26 Posted December 22, 2010 All depends - on Interstate I ride to get there and do up to the speed limit - maybe a bit over. On regular roads, by myself, I like to putter - 45-50 mph.

Beau-Kat Posted December 25, 2010 Share #28 Posted December 25, 2010 When I was Road Captain for our CMA chapter for a few years, I often led 65 +/- bikes on our rides every week. When we went anywhere on the interstate, I would ride a mile or two per hour slower than traffic. It was a whole lot easier to let folks pass our string of bikes than to try to drag the string in and out to pass cars. So, we just cruised the right lane and let folks pass us. I still ride that way, even when I'm alone. I always leave plenty early so I can ride my own pace and get where I'm going a little early. Just less stressfull to ride a bit more slowly.
