SMSgt Posted December 21, 2010 #1 Posted December 21, 2010 I have two questions concerning the Run For The Wall. First: How many have heard of Run For The Wall? Second: How many are going to go with me next year, 2011? Last year I only saw one Venture and about 4 Road Stars. This year there will be one less R* ,mine, and one more RSV, mine. It would be nice to see a whole contingent of Road Stars and Royal Stars. RFTW really is a great ride and the experiences are irreplaceable. All motorcycles are welcome as well as non-vets. For the west coast rider you will end up on the east coast just in time for the Maintenance Day in Oberlin. The web site is RFTW.ORG. Give it a look see and see if you can fit it into your schedule.

You must be in the wrong place because there are hundreds of R* and Ventures at Rolling Thunder. I ride as a VIP escort and carry a wife, mother or sister as a passenger for this event. It is humbling when you listen to their sacrifices for their country. I will be at Rolling Thunder again this year. I stay in Springfield, VA with many others and the STAR group is at a hotel there also.
bknsaddle Posted December 21, 2010 #5 Posted December 21, 2010 2011 will be my 7th year on the Run. I am "Slinky" the Alabama State Coordinator for the Southern Route. Those that have participated in this mission across America know that it is a life changing experience, and near impossible to fully describe to someone who has not participated...... "Welcome Home" http://www.rftw.org
Pic Posted December 21, 2010 #6 Posted December 21, 2010 I rode 2 days on the Southern Route last year on my Blue 07 RSV, Terrell Tx to Meridian MS. Wish I could do more but work kept me from it. Great experience and would recommend it to anyone Vet or not. Lots of great folks on this mission. Don't know if I can ride 2011 RFTW yet. Had a stroke in October that affected my eyesight. Have not tried riding yet. It is getting better and I hope by spring to be back in the saddle again.

"Welcome Home" www.rftw.org I'm doing the southern route this year. I did the central route last year. I'll be going all the way again. This is one of the greatest motorcycle rides I have ever been on. Are you leaving from Rancho?
wes0778 Posted December 21, 2010 #8 Posted December 21, 2010 1st time in 2010 and I found it to be a most moving experience!!! I joined the ride in Tallulah, LA and rode as far as Meridian, MS. I sure hope to do it again in 2011!!!
bknsaddle Posted December 21, 2010 #9 Posted December 21, 2010 SMSgt.: Welcome Home, Brother. I'll be meeting the Run in Monroe, LA in 2011. I developed a health problem this year and I don't have the stamina to go out to Rancho..... Can't wait for May..... Strength and Honor Steve
zooer Posted December 22, 2010 #10 Posted December 22, 2010 My brother and I plan on meeting up with the group down in Chattanooga for the ride in. Big event for us.
gradys-garage Posted December 29, 2010 #11 Posted December 29, 2010 I will be meeting up at the Wytheville VA stop (about 20 mi from home ). No kidding, we have been to the Wytheville event the last two years and it is a sight to see. Thousands of bikes tons of supporters, concerts, and a very touching memorial service in a beautiful small town park setting make it a night to remember! This will be our first year to participate in the actual DC ride. Hoping that etcswjoe will be able to get together a "run to the run" from the Charleston SC area to Wytheville and/or Roanoke Va.
Aussie Annie Posted December 29, 2010 #12 Posted December 29, 2010 Just wish Quickstep and I could have made it
bknsaddle Posted January 7, 2011 #13 Posted January 7, 2011 Happens every year.....as soon as I get past Dec. 31 my mind starts to focus on May. The RFTW Discussion Forum is picking up steam.... http://www.rftw.org/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=1&title=general-discussion
Hummingbird Posted January 7, 2011 #14 Posted January 7, 2011 I didn't meet up with any RFTW riders but I did go to DC last year for Rolling Thunder. An AWESOME event !!!
