dingy Posted December 20, 2010 #1 Posted December 20, 2010 I am working on a detailed description with drawings on the inner workings of the Anti Dive system and need some help. I have all the spare parts I need except for the inner fork tube. I could use some help from someone that has a disassembled 1st gen fork that could get me some measurements of the tube and maybe a couple of pictures. A partially completed drawing I am working on is shown below. I have even taken a spare outer tube I had and cut it open to get a better view of the cross section. Snaggletooth Posted December 20, 2010 #2 Posted December 20, 2010 What do you need to know Gary? I have a set of forks on the bench now that I can open up. What pics do you need? Mike
MiCarl Posted December 20, 2010 #3 Posted December 20, 2010 I've got a severely bent one you can have to saw up if that'll help. I'm going to be in your neighborhood Jan. 15.
dingy Posted December 20, 2010 Author #4 Posted December 20, 2010 What I am looking for is: Dimensions don't have to be extremely accurate, I am just trying to make a rough drawing to try and understand the workings of the AD system. If I can get a grip on it, I will do a write up on how it works and if it is useful. Overall length I.D. of tube O.D of tube at bottom Width of lower bushing recess in tube Dia of lower bushing recess in tube Distance from bottom of tube for lower bushing recess in tube How far from top of tube is the O.D. consistent (it starts to taper in at some point past seal bearing surface) Bottom of tube geometry I.D. of hole in bottom Is it tapered. How thick is bottom shoulder Counter bored ? Closeup pictures of bottom of tube would help. Picture of inside of tube at the top (I have the parts that mate up to top, just a picture would be nice) Gary
Snaggletooth Posted December 20, 2010 #5 Posted December 20, 2010 Ok, I'll see what I can do. Might be tomorrow evening before I can get it done. Mike

Snaggletooth Posted December 22, 2010 #8 Posted December 22, 2010 Gary, PM sent and here are the pics. Let me know if you need anything else.
dingy Posted December 22, 2010 Author #9 Posted December 22, 2010 Gary, PM sent and here are the pics. Let me know if you need anything else. Mike, Picture #1 that you posted shows a hole just above the bushing recess. What are dimensions on this hole? Dia and distance from bottom. Is it drilled through? Is there any mechanism in this hole? It looks like there is something shown across the mid line of the hole. Gary
Snaggletooth Posted December 22, 2010 #10 Posted December 22, 2010 Gary, You have a couple of e-mails with more pics. Mike
