jjohnston Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Anyone know if "new " part # / part works as well as old. It's a gen 1 stat seal. New one is a bit different but that's what the book calls for.
Squidley Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Jon, On the 1st gens there are 2 sealing points for the thermostat. The 1st one is internal and slides over the lip of the thermostat itself the 2nd is an O-ring that seals the cover to the housing. I would replace both of them with new ones so you dont have any issues. as far as the "New" part to the old, as long as one is the O-ring and the other slides over the stat lip then your good.
