rentalguy1 Posted December 18, 2010 #26 Posted December 18, 2010 No doubt, COLD FRIED CHICKEN. One of my favorite meals. FTW! Also most Italian dishes seem to be better the second day. So much so, that when I make baked ziti I take it out of the oven and put it straight in the fridge, then we eat it the next day.
KarlS Posted December 18, 2010 #27 Posted December 18, 2010 Left overs????? You mean to tell me my mom lied to me all those years, and I DON'T have to eat everything!!!!!! I never knew. Just you wait till I see her. Bryan HA. At my house you ate what was put on your plate. If you didn't like it you got beat until you did. That's why to this day I won't eat chicken. Ever had it boiled?
bryan52577 Posted December 18, 2010 #28 Posted December 18, 2010 HA. At my house you ate what was put on your plate. If you didn't like it you got beat until you did. That's why to this day I won't eat chicken. Ever had it boiled? Well dang, I never knew I had a brother! Howdy! I don't remember seeing you at the table, but all you say is true! Did she use the same blue hair brush on you too? The main reason I cringe when I see one to this day. Bryan
CaptainJoe Posted December 18, 2010 #29 Posted December 18, 2010 Well... I'm surprised no one has said this, but my favorite left over is... BEER! ESpecialty on a NFL SUNDAY. Sometimes I have to mix up with other brands, because of friends comming over, but normally stick with Michelob! Go STEELERS!
CaptainJoe Posted December 18, 2010 #30 Posted December 18, 2010 Seriously though, I'd have to say fried tater cakes: mashed potatoes 1 egg 1 table spoon flour chopped onions mix well and fry in skillet sprayed with canola oil (pam) till golden brown Yummie!
bongobobny Posted December 18, 2010 #31 Posted December 18, 2010 After reading this thread, I'm heading to the refrigerator, I'm hungry...
Eck Posted December 18, 2010 #32 Posted December 18, 2010 Meat loaf is my favorite.. Like already mentioned, cold or hot, it always makes a great sandwich.. Left over Turkey is pretty darn good too now...
Yammer Dan Posted December 19, 2010 Author #33 Posted December 19, 2010 I read all this and cleaned the fridge for the Warden!!! She thought I was just trying to be helpfull....... Does anyone make Drop Biscuits or Lazy Man's bread?? Great with about anything. Warden makes them in a Iron skillit and they get a good crunchy crust all over them...I like them with a big slice of fresh tomato in the summer. Fried eggs, chop them up and just put on like a sandwich spread in the winter or a chunk of sausage. I'm getting hungry again!
KarlS Posted December 19, 2010 #34 Posted December 19, 2010 Another for meat loaf. I make it more for the sandwiches then the meal. Of course Chili is a very close second. Well now I'm hungry.
mikentinamidnight Posted December 19, 2010 #35 Posted December 19, 2010 This 2nd gen rider loves to eat them leftover 1st gens anytime of the day or night.
Yammer Dan Posted December 21, 2010 Author #36 Posted December 21, 2010 This 2nd gen rider loves to eat them leftover 1st gens anytime of the day or night. Watch it. You will starve to death with a appetite like that!!!:rotfl:
1 Canuck Posted December 21, 2010 #37 Posted December 21, 2010 Left over BBQ ribs, if there's any left after a meal. There good both cold or reheated.
E-Fishin-C Posted December 21, 2010 #38 Posted December 21, 2010 Dark meat of a Turkey, canberry jelly and cream corn ,Oh yah! Smoked fish
autopilot Posted December 21, 2010 #39 Posted December 21, 2010 1. spaghetti 2. meat loaf 3. pizza 4. homemade vegetable-beef or chicken soup 5. tuna casserole 6. turkey sandwiches the day after the holiday the bird was cooked. This exercise is patently unfair..I just want you to know! 'cause I know there is leftover ham in the fridge and now I'm going to have to go get some. Thanks loads!
Motorcycle Mike Posted December 21, 2010 #40 Posted December 21, 2010 Anything Shirley cooks from scratch. She loves to cook and is really good at it so picking a single favorite leftover is tough, but I'll go with her beef stew. It's actually better the second day. Well I don't eat Meat Loaf either first time or left over. What a waste of good hamburger. BOO Thats the way I thought of meatloaf till I had Shirleys.
CrazyHorse Posted December 21, 2010 #41 Posted December 21, 2010 OK its winter!!! Once in a while the Warden gets busy and don't want to do my eggs, taters, biscuits, saugage & gravy. So I take a look in the fridge to see what has been left there. This morning there was some leftover O'Brian potato Hamburger Helper. Fried a couple eggs tossed them on top along with a hot pepper and I'll have to remember that one.... GOOOD!! Now gotta move that fire extinguisher back to the bathroom!!! Whats your favorite leftover??? My only question is What do you do in the bathroom that requires a fire extinguisher?
Yammer Dan Posted December 21, 2010 Author #42 Posted December 21, 2010 My only question is What do you do in the bathroom that requires a fire extinguisher? Eat some HOT Peppers and you won't ask questions like that!!
tcoop Posted December 21, 2010 #43 Posted December 21, 2010 Anything my wife cooks is great as leftovers...Only problem is my son (16) and daughter(18) get to it before I do.
Yammer Dan Posted December 22, 2010 Author #44 Posted December 22, 2010 Yeah this Empty Nest thing is going great!! I can put something in the fridge now and go back 3 wks later and its still there!! Probally turned green but it is still there. And we have a lot more left-overs now!!
eusa1 Posted December 22, 2010 #45 Posted December 22, 2010 steak! only thing is that there is not too many times when this item is left over...... sometimes it does not make it from the grill to the house.
zooer Posted December 22, 2010 #46 Posted December 22, 2010 Ain't nothing like making up a nice casserole of scratch macaroni and cheese, then put in about a pound of diced ham, bake for 30 minutes and then layer the top with slices of sharp NY cheddar cheese and broil until top is toasted brown. You can live on that for a week. I know, I've done it.
rentalguy1 Posted December 22, 2010 #47 Posted December 22, 2010 Not sure how I forgot to mention it in my other post, but leftover roast beef is pretty awesome, too. First day is with taters and carrots, smothered in juices, second day is heaped on kaiser rolls and slathered in mustard...ah crap! Now I want a roast beef sammich!
