oldgoat Posted December 7, 2010 #1 Posted December 7, 2010 today at 4:00pm i have a meeting with my lawyer to talk about an offer of possible settlement of a long 3 year battle of workers comp case. im not sure what the $ offer is. but i had 2 torn minicus repairs a back injury that they gave me over 7 injections in ans it,s still not perfect. but healed fair. as for the knee. it will need a replacement in the future. as bone is now on bone.. im hopeing. to get enough to pay off the 5 grand on my car. maybe enough to get another bike? so i can work on the venture some more. i hate to say with these first gens a back up bike never hurts. there too big for litttle jaunts around town. so was thinking if all goes well today and i find out if we get the settlement by spring. a nice yamaha 650cc or 1100. yamaha vstar would be a nice. run around bike. so wish this oldgoat some luck. as this year has realy sucked for me.

Yammer Dan Posted December 7, 2010 #4 Posted December 7, 2010 Hope you come out better than I did with them. Good luck!!
uechi kid Posted December 7, 2010 #5 Posted December 7, 2010 Good luck with your settlement meeting. I hope it turns out the way you want. Three years, I'm sure it's weighed heavily on you. I don't know how old you are, but the younger you do the knee replacement the faster you heal and will be riding again. I had that surgery 5 years ago. I'm glad I didn't wait.
oldgoat Posted December 7, 2010 Author #6 Posted December 7, 2010 well it was a lot of legal mumble stuff. where keeping medical open on the claim. and fighting what they said was my average weekly wage. big differance on what they said i was makeing and what my pay stubs show. could mean a increase of $5000.00 on my claim in my favour. they offerd based on there wage info. and % of injury to my body they gave 20% to the leg. and 5% to my back a grand lump sum total of just over 14 grand. i tould my lawyer i want $16 grand just for my self. plus they pay his fees. and he said thats what we will shoot for. man i hate workers comp. what a kick in the nut sack. 16 grand for this injury i guess it,s ok but to fire me after 20 years. that,s what hurt the most. so i will take the 16 grand in febuary. that,s when i will see the check.. this is not a lot but with being on SSDI of a little over 700.00 a month. i will pay off the loan on my car have a little nest egg. and will be ok. you never get what you should on any law settlement. but at least little light is at the end of the road. after the car i will put away about 6 grand.
Squidley Posted December 8, 2010 #7 Posted December 8, 2010 Hope it all works out well in the end James.
