Drreb Posted December 2, 2010 #29 Posted December 2, 2010 At least he has an elevator up to the last 100 and something feet. Ours was only about 700 feet but no elevator at all. There were several times when I would get to the top, troubleshoot the situation and then have to go back down and then return with the parts that I needed. It was honestly a lot of fun when you got to the top though. You could see for miles around. Hey Freebird did you ever fall out of a tree on to your head....LOL:whistling:
hipshot Posted December 2, 2010 #30 Posted December 2, 2010 i used to routinely climb 2 to 300 feet, working in the refineries. legs and lungs finally said ENOUGH! now i don't even like climbing a ladder.i couldn't watch it all, either! just jt:scorched:
Iowa Guy Posted December 2, 2010 #31 Posted December 2, 2010 I made myself watch til the end. Unfortunately my testicles are still trying to climb as high up inside my body as possible. I don't know how much they pay those guys but its not enough.
Dragonslayer Posted December 2, 2010 #32 Posted December 2, 2010 I used to climb the light poles on top of the football stadiums when I was younger. Not nearly that high but, it was breath taking and physical. Paid great Quintuple comp time.
Iowa Guy Posted December 2, 2010 #33 Posted December 2, 2010 Say, how long after a misstep, would the trip to the ground take? Just wondering how much time a person would have to ponder stuff. I can't be the only person who is thinking this. Iowa Guy

1 Canuck Posted December 2, 2010 #35 Posted December 2, 2010 I agree, not a great job for those who are afraid of heights . One of my first worries up there may be, where do I go to have a dump when you have to go right now? Although, that may be a really bad thing for the guy below me. I think a base jumper would be the perfect person for the job and he gets paid for it.
Dragonslayer Posted December 3, 2010 #36 Posted December 3, 2010 S.W.A.G. = 12 to 15 seconds??? S.W.A.G = Ponder Time ? Maximum Velocity
saltcreep Posted December 3, 2010 #37 Posted December 3, 2010 I couldn't stop myself from watching it all, but it made my stomach hurt... Oh man !
GlennTuc Posted December 3, 2010 #38 Posted December 3, 2010 I couldn't do it for one-million dollars a climb. My mind just would not let me do it. I would freeze up and couldn't move. Glenn
