Need help locating the former owner of my 2004 Midnight RSV

Hi everyone,

 

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I purchased a new to me 2004 Royal Star Venture from a person in Calgary, Alberta.

 

He is the second owner and when I asked him who he bought the bike from, he couldn't remember.

 

I have an idea, but I'm not sure. I am just wondering on the off chance that someone in Calgary might know and be able to pass the information to me in a private email.

 

All I want to know is if the bike ever had the valves and brake/clutch/ fuel filter changed. The bike has 52, 500 kilometers on it and I would like to know so I can get that scheduled to be done.

 

The fluids all look clean so I am wondering.

 

I realize it might be like looking for a needle in the haystack but I thought I would try.

Go to the department of transport for a small fee they usually will give you a list of previus owners. In Ontario you can get a used vehical package, wth the vehicales ownership History. I don't know if other provinces do this as well.

I bought an 06 Midnight in 2008, I am the third owner.. My bike was an abused bike..

 

What I could recommend is go ahead and change out all your filters and all your fluids. When in doubt, DO IT! The valves are more involved and expensive to do but for most cases, if your bike follows the norms they shouldn't be too far out..

 

Changing your fluids and filters on spec will allow you to have that peace of mind of knowing where your status is (all new and all clean). You will learn how to do the task and be more willing to do it again when the time calls for it..

 

I wish I had when I bought my used bike, it might have saved me some problems later on.. But ya learn as ya go..
