etcswjoe Posted November 27, 2010 #3 Posted November 27, 2010 Are you saying you have to pull start a first gen?
Kregerdoodle Posted November 27, 2010 #4 Posted November 27, 2010 Are you saying you have to pull start a first gen? Only after they get them off of the Trailer!! :rotfl:

Rocket Posted November 27, 2010 #8 Posted November 27, 2010 Like to mount this on side of my 1st Gen see how many would notice it!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Phazer-Venture-Inviter-recoil-pull-starter-/290504862533?pt=Snowmobile_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43a3706b45 Why would you, want that 2nd gen / RSTD part, on a great 1st gen...... Our ignition switches do not have a tendency to fail.
BradT Posted November 27, 2010 #9 Posted November 27, 2010 Our ignition switches do not have a tendency to fail. Just everything else. Brad
dingy Posted November 27, 2010 #10 Posted November 27, 2010 Why would you, want that 2nd gen / RSTD part, on a great 1st gen...... Our ignition switches do not have a tendency to fail. And our clutches don't WHINE to us nearly to the extent the RSV's do !!! Maybe those clutches wants some 1st gen power ?? Gary
Yammer Dan Posted November 27, 2010 Author #12 Posted November 27, 2010 Thought if I put a Pull Start on there they would rate it right up there with the 2nd Gens!!! But I would have to slow down so they could see it!!
Condor Posted November 27, 2010 #13 Posted November 27, 2010 Ride 'm off a cliff, and they're all equal... Unless you're on a Wing.... then it flies....
Drreb Posted November 27, 2010 #14 Posted November 27, 2010 Most of you first gen. riders are to old to pull a recoil starter..
bongobobny Posted November 27, 2010 #15 Posted November 27, 2010 It says it fits a 2000 Venture so it must be a 2nd gen part...
CaptainJoe Posted November 27, 2010 #16 Posted November 27, 2010 For the majority of people on the road to see, it would have to be mounted in the vicinity of your headlight.... As seen through my rear view mirrors...
Scooter Bob Posted November 27, 2010 #17 Posted November 27, 2010 I tried to buy a 2001 Venture for $2,100 yesterday. That would have bolted right up. Missed it by a half an hour. Guess I'll keep lookin'. Later, Scooter Bob
Yammer Dan Posted November 27, 2010 Author #18 Posted November 27, 2010 Can't you just see the look on the faces of the ones that do manage to catch up at DQ when they look down (ashamed to look up) and see a pull start handle hanging there!!
saddlebum Posted November 27, 2010 #19 Posted November 27, 2010 Considering that I ..I mean some people often shut the engine down by putting the kick stand down, and then walk away from it leaving the key on which drains the battery I would consider it very useful.

It was probally the same guy you are talking about that got the 85 with a set of floorboards on it. Kickstand was hidden under the boards and he was always forgetting to put it up!!! Can't see it it ain't there I guess he thought!!!
