Kregerdoodle Posted November 26, 2010 Author #5 Posted November 26, 2010 Looks great! Did they taste as good? They turned out very good, injected with Butter and Garlic, gonna try injecting with Tony`s Cajon next time...
Dave77459 Posted November 26, 2010 #6 Posted November 26, 2010 They turned out very good, injected with Butter and Garlic, gonna try injecting with Tony`s Cajon next time... Glad to hear! Hard to believe anything injected with Tony's wouldn't be good!
1joeranger Posted November 26, 2010 #7 Posted November 26, 2010 Got mine from Popeyes this year! Precooked and spiced real nice!! Like experimenting with something a little different each year. Last year I tried frying one in oil and that turned out nice but it was such a chore. Next year I should be ready to try traditional again unless someone post an interesting alternative?!
Freebird Posted November 26, 2010 #8 Posted November 26, 2010 We cooked two 12 pounders this year. One the conventional way in the oven and the other I deep fried. I made my own marinade to inject it with. Everybody thought it was great but I wasn't crazy about it. I know what I didn't like and will modify it next time. As for pre-cooked turkeys...or any turkey for that matter. My all time favorite is still the Greenberg Turkey. They are injected and smoked in Tyler, TX and they are still the best turkey I have ever eaten. Haven't had one in a few years, may order one for Christmas. http://www.gobblegobble.com/
BIG TOM Posted November 26, 2010 #9 Posted November 26, 2010 All I can say is that "I never met a turkey I didn't like".................. :rotf:
dray Posted November 26, 2010 #10 Posted November 26, 2010 just me and the ol lady this year so thats what we did too! a couple Cornish hens with all the trimmings: but were going to have a turkey for Christmas
Snaggletooth Posted November 26, 2010 #11 Posted November 26, 2010 I'm sorry to say this but man......that's not even a decent snack. But then again when people have asked me what part of the turkey I want.................. "The left half" is the only proper answer.
