Answer: cardboard box!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that's so true. Just get them boxes and they'll have fun.

Look what they've done to the old board games they added electronics to make them faster.

I am not that old but when I was growing up, all the toys that I can remember said "MADE IN AMERICA" on them and they lasted forever. In fact, I still have two big boxes in the garage with toys from my childhood. Some toys were dangerous but certainly not life-threatening. We used to shoot pellet guns at each other for cryin' out loud.

My favorite toy was a pair of colt cix shooter cap guns and they didn't have any bright orange caps on the ends of the barrels and do you know why? Because we had enough sense not to point them at people, especially not police officers. Sure we pointed them at each other, but only in the back yard when we were playing cowboys and indians.

My Tonka trucks were made of metal, not soft plastic and I probably put more miles on them than any other vehicle I have owned. Those trucks have been burried in mud, sand, water, and rocks and (are you ready for this) 20 years later, I still have them and have just started letting my 2 year old play with them.

:soapbox:

I hope that I am not the only one who feels this way.

It is sad to see so many fat kids in our country. I look around my neighborhood theres lots of children but hardly anyone outside. When I was young you couldnt keep me in the house. I'm still that way today. I gotta move to Arizona or Texas where its warm or warmer all year. I'm tired of being inside during the winter feel like I'm wasting my life. 6 months of decent weather 6 months of crap. Plus I hate cold and snow. If it never snowed again in my area I'd be happy as a lark.

It would nice to bring back some manufacturing to this country or Canada for you Canucks. I don't trust China at all. I think they are going to be the world's next problem but greedy companies from around the world want to pay people dirt and I guess China's the place to go. I'd rather send my money to central america and have factories there. I dont think they have any world domination aspirations yet.

SilvrT love you brother but I forgot your Canadian and guns are evil up there. We gotta train as kids you know U.S. world policeman because no other country has the balls to do anything about anything they always look to the U.S. to fight their wars. Like Bosnia I could care less about those people let them kill each other but we were there cause Europe was afraid to do anything. But I still love SilvrT I grew up with firearms never thought about actually killing someone. Hell I was on a marksmanship team in High School even brought my rifle to school and had ammo in my locker imagine that today. I think it's more how your raised by your parents to respect others. (but there are some nuts there you cant reach).

Here in Vancouver, we seem to be in the middle of "gang wars". There's a lot of big time crime going on around here...a lot of drugs being produced and distributed, a lot of big time illegal crap going on. Every week we hear about people being killed that are involved in criminal activities. Restaurant shoot-em-ups, drive-by shootings, people being killed in their vehicles at stop lights, and the list goes on. It's getting so bad that the police have formed a special task force to combat it.

What's really ironic is that there are more illegal firearms coming into Canada from the USA and other places than any other time in history. The irony here is that a few years ago, one of our federal government ministers brought in this "Law" to make everyone in Canada who owns a firearm either register it or turn it in for disposal...all supposedly to curb and combat crime and illegal firearms. HA! a lot of good that did and what's even more ironic... actually funny... is this same minister visited our city the other day and as he was driving down the street he came across a crime scene that had just taken place...with an illegal gun of course! LOL... when interviewed by the TV newsperson, the guy didn't have a lot to say coz he was too busy swallowing his tongue! Apparently he is no longer in government.

It is a sad statement when our kids are fat and have all sorts of ailments due to the fact that they don't go out and play like we did. The only time we were inside was during really bad weather. Then we use to build forts with the living room and dining room furniture. Use the pillows get blankets, use mom's nice fruit bowl to hold them down.

I remember all those tonka toys when we were kids too. My brothers still have some of theirs.

That's what I liked about this website I found all american made and some really nice old stuff. They even had a slinky made of gold (bit expensive and ridiculous)

We can make a difference!

Stop buying anything Made In China

(it's not all toys!) and encourage your friends and family to do the same...
