Hi guys, winter project time..

 

The 4 way flashers on our RSV require the bike to turned on (ignition ON) which means you'd have to leave the bike running or risk the battery draining since the headlight is left on with the key turned to ON.. I've searched around for alternatives to this set up, but nothing concrete comes up..

 

Could it be as simple as moving one or two wires from the ignition side of a circuit over to an AUX side of the circuit? I'm not electrically inclined (I get zapped a lot) so I'm not sure how that would work..

 

Anyone have any info on how one could have the 4 way flashers (hazard lights) come on with the bike on Aux power? If the signal lights were LED, then they would be easy on battery power consumption, no?

It can be done I think,,, I bought a conversion kit for my Goldwing a few years ago for just that. The theory is the same, but the location and wire colors would be different of course. Basically what you do is place the relay in between the power (battery) and the switch on the right bar, with a small switch to trigger the relay that applies power from the battery to the flasher through the switch on the bar. ( that way the handle bar switch has to be used to actually turn on the flashers )

 

EC Electrical Connections has them for $29.95, but wired plug and play got the Gold wing, but could give you an idea on just what you would need.
