I make a small set of jumpers for the bikes. Just use one of those 6 or 9 ft extenison cords you can get for a couple bucks at Dollar Stores cut off ends and put electrical clips on them. I just feel better not throwing all that juice to a bike system. I may not be right in this but I don't think that small cord would carry enough to hurt system.

12 volts is 12 volts and that is all. You can get it anyway you want. Get a bunch of D cell batteries it you want. Amps are something different and Freebird was right with don't run the engine.

It is best to hook up the ground cable to the bike itself...Not the battery...

Dead on Y D, but you don't want the high charge rate of the car alternator. That is why I just use the car battery without the engine running.
