1st Gen passenger foot rests

Hi. I have an 83 Venture with the stock passenger foot pegs.I want to install the upgraded foot rest.Is the bracket the same from years 83- 86? I see lots of foot rests on Ebay that are from 86- 89 years.Can anyone help? Thanks, Ray:think:

There is actually floor boards available, somewhere, for the 83 to 85,,, which is a little different setup than the 86 to 91. You can make it work with some modifications though,,, it's not all that difficult,,,, Wizard765 did his, all by himself!!!!

The 86-93 units will bolt right up to the frame of a 83-85.

 

You will need to make a separate hanger for the rear exhaust mount.

 

About 1" x 4" long x 1/8" thick material.

Bob is right. The first set was aluminum and was done with a lot of help from Bongobob at his place. The set that is on there now is stainless and I didn most of it myself with some help installing them from Marcarl.

 

The brackets are easy to make up. They are necessary because the original passenger pegs have a bracket that holds the exhaust. This whole bracket is replaced when you change to the MarkII floor boards. In my opinion worth it.

OK so I was a little bit wrong,,,,, but I got Wizard765 to post again,, and Bongobob for a bonus.

For me it's about as right as it's going to get,,,, so normal fare.
