Brake Pad Posted November 21, 2010 #1 Posted November 21, 2010 This is going to be a 3.5 ft trailer By 7 ft long By 45 inches tall 2 axles with 10inch tires. over all weight, 225 Lbs. I'm in the planing stage
Squidley Posted November 21, 2010 #2 Posted November 21, 2010 This should be an interesting build to see, could you humor us as you go along with it and post the progression

BigBear Posted November 21, 2010 #4 Posted November 21, 2010 Brake Pad; Looks "interesting"...Will this be constructed of fiberglass or aluminum?
Carbon_One Posted November 21, 2010 #5 Posted November 21, 2010 Due to it's size I'm presuming it'll be a camper of sorts. Right or wrong? If it's going to be a camper then will it raise up for additional height inside? Just curious is all. Good luck with the build and like Squidley says keep us entertained. Larry
Brake Pad Posted November 21, 2010 Author #6 Posted November 21, 2010 Brake Pad; Looks "interesting"...Will this be constructed of fiberglass or aluminum? The main frame will be metal the walls framing will be both wood & aluminum walls of light fiber wood, and a 1/4 inch foam insulator board the slide sounds interesting. something to think about
Eck Posted November 21, 2010 #7 Posted November 21, 2010 Sounds like your gonna need dual rotors on the rear of the Venture to stop it safely...
Brake Pad Posted November 21, 2010 Author #8 Posted November 21, 2010 Its not a big as you think. My other trail is 202 lbs empty, and I've had it loaded as much as 550 lbs ( Not that i would do that again) This trailer will be 8 inches taller and 2 ft longer
hlange Posted November 22, 2010 #10 Posted November 22, 2010 311 pounds, 40"X40"X7', 8" wheels, no brakes, works wonderful. A twin mattress fits in it.
BEER30 Posted November 22, 2010 #11 Posted November 22, 2010 I'm not just yet sold on the 2 axle idea............................ Maybe on the straight-a-way it will pull great, but take off in a turn will pull/tug the scoot. BEER30
GigaWhiskey Posted November 22, 2010 #12 Posted November 22, 2010 311 pounds, 40"X40"X7', 8" wheels, no brakes, works wonderful. A twin mattress fits in it. Love that trailer! Nice bike too!

Larry Larry, glad to see you on the forum. Heard you were having problems with the coclear (spelling?) Hope all is well. Randy
Carbon_One Posted November 22, 2010 #14 Posted November 22, 2010 Larry, glad to see you on the forum. Heard you were having problems with the coclear (spelling?) Hope all is well. Randy Hi jack here but I'll probably be upgrading my last post on the topic after Tuesday, Maybe after Thanksgiving day Larry
TDunc Posted November 22, 2010 #15 Posted November 22, 2010 I have to agree on the extra "push" that the dual axles might give. It will surely want to go straight. I think the bike might be heavy enough for dry rides but I sure would be creating a "leather funnel" while riding it wet. I like the concept though..keep us informed. Tom
Bubber Posted November 22, 2010 #16 Posted November 22, 2010 Don't let ScootBob see this he wants to build one too! Is this a concept or do you actually have drawn-up plans for it? I also was toying with building another teardrop but more of a camper style like what you have shown. Good luck on your project and keep us all informed. Pictures are good. Steve
Eck Posted November 22, 2010 #17 Posted November 22, 2010 Check out this pull behind trailer... looks like a garage.. You need to page down to near bottom of page when it opens to see inside and outside photos.. http://www.goldbrand.info/why.html
Bubber Posted November 22, 2010 #18 Posted November 22, 2010 Thanks Eck. I have seen that before. He had the start to finish story posted somewhere and it was real intersting reading as far as I was concerned. A little big but it works for him. The man sure has talent.
Brake Pad Posted November 24, 2010 Author #19 Posted November 24, 2010 I went out today shopping parts for the trailer. I think the best option, is a small sea do trailer, less the arm pully and support pads. so far Im looking at 312.00 dollars for parts, Not including the build
Brake Pad Posted November 24, 2010 Author #20 Posted November 24, 2010 looks like Im going all wood body with a fiberglass over lay & paint:cool10:
Squidley Posted November 24, 2010 #21 Posted November 24, 2010 looks like Im going all wood body with a fiberglass over lay & paint:cool10: Cool Beans! Looking forward to the build pics
Herb In Texas Posted December 2, 2010 #22 Posted December 2, 2010 (edited) Got to agree with Beer30. Tandems have to scotch sideways in a turn. hook your pick up to a tandem axle car trailer or some thing. then get out in a parking lot and turn as hard to the left as you can. then look back over your shoulder and watch how the tires on the trailer react. the slower you can go the better. Intrstate and good Farm to Market roads should be no trouble. But when you get to where your going and have to do slow speed stop to stop manuvers I am afraid the extra side load on the hitch may cause some real concern, read dificulty staying upright on the bike. Thats my 2cents spend it wisely. Edit. I do like the concept and am interested to see how it goes. And apoligize for the tone of this post. I have never been acussed of having tact. Probably why I had to make Technical Sergeant 3 times. Edited December 2, 2010 by Herb In Texas

Tom From the short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyal? a leather funnel tells the tale of a horrbile execution.
Brake Pad Posted December 3, 2010 Author #24 Posted December 3, 2010 I spoke to alot of guys that pull trailers, over the pasted few day, and they all, tell me not to go that route, They say to run a 10 to 12 Inch tire, with alittle meat on them instead. I will honor your advise. and heed your warnings. Thank You.
