Whats a Crime Advisory ? Watching the news right now and first they talk about the 8th murder in 3 days in Flint. Then they talk about the 14 year old that broke into a house and shot and killed a 74 year old women in the back and robbed her. Then the Mayor comes on and says they are laying off 25 MORE Police Officers so they are issuing a "Crime Advisory" for areas of the City of Flint. What do you do during a "Crime Advisory", Lock yourself inside and hide under the bed with a gun? Does a map pop up in the lower corner of the TV with little red flashing spots saying "Crime Advisory" please arm yourself and take cover? Maybe we won't need Police anymore if we have "Crime Advisories". What will they think of next. I gotta get out of here. :bikersmilie:

When the police are getting laid off, sounds like they are saying...you're screwed. Try to catch the criminals, make more jails, pay higher taxes to house them; and the politicians will say, "we are doing a good job keeping the public informed".

It all makes perfect sense to me. After you spend 5 plus billion of tax payers hard earned money on a gun registry, for legit gun owners, all possible criminal activity is wiped out. So naturaly you can afford to lay policemen off. Far wiser than using the money to try and improve and strengthen the police force against crime.:bang head::bang head::bang head::bang head::bang head:

Folks,

Not to get carried away here, I know many of us are VERY PASSIONATE about our political and firearm views. I or any of the other Moderators dont want to see this one head south. I have very strong opinions on gun control and politics, but I dont express them here. Lets not turn this into an all out rant, I know we can all agree that things aren't good.

Hey Karl, I grew up on Leland where that 73 year old lady was killed by the 14 and 16 year old. They both are going to be tried as adults. She was on the 800 block, I lived on the 500 block, still have two brothers there. As a kid I mowed alot of lawns and shoveled snow on those streets, was a nice place to live then. Glad I moved north 12 years ago. Later-

I checked this out on Snoopes, they are saying this is an impossible equation..........

Small bit of humor injected here to offset the seriousness of the thread........ balances out the ranting.....

Time to move south.

Been trying to save enough money to move to North East Alabama for 4 years. I swear if it wasn't for my Daughter I'd sell everything but the Bike and the Van and head south and hope for the best.

Actually you have a really good question here and I am quite curious as to what this "crime advisory" thing is and what it is supposed to achieve.

I have only been through Flint a few times [for various reasons] and actually looked at going to school for an Engineering degree there at Kettering (formerly GMI - my dad went there for his Business/Marketing degree). Anyhoo the city wasn't really for me. Best of luck to you there.
