Broken windshield mounts

Anyone ever have this issue? See pics.

 

What's odd is that the DEALER (who remains nameless at this point) said he replaced the complete INNER FAIRING piece about 6 weeks ago (under warranty) to resolve the exact same issue.

 

I cracked the fairing to replace a stereo cable...and low and behold...the windshield bracket-to-inner-fairing mounts are completely broken.

 

Thoughts? Is this a COMMON issue that all RSVs have? Or am I just "lucky"?

This IS a common issue with the RSV...

So...since this "should" be covered under warranty (again) should I push Yamaha to replace the inner fairing AGAIN...or just do the V7Goose mod (which looks to be VERY straightforward)?

Mine were broken since the first time I split the fairing. I've just decided to live with it the way it is. Might go ahead and try the permanent fix. Seems that replacing the inner fairing would be a waste of time since it would break again right away.
