Air Cleaner in Star Custom Accessories Catalog

On the 2007 RSV in the Star Custom Accessories Catalog there is a custom chrome air cleaner with the Star Motorcycles logo on it however this part is not available in the catalog.

 

Look at the photo on page 72.........

So did this part exist in previous years catalogs?

 

Why isn't this part available in the catalog it is featured in????

I don't have the catalog that you are looking at but I do have the chrome air cleaner covers on my '99. If we are talking about the same thing, they have been available since the beginning. Here is a link.

did you add k&n filters and rejet when you added those air cleaners was told you have to just wondering, would like to do the same.

I think that Yamaha re-designed the stock filters. The covers would work with my original filters but I heard they would not work with replacement filters or filters on later models. I did install the K&Ns later but they worked with my original filters. I have never re-jetted and see no reason to.

I HAVE THE K&Ns IN MY BIKE WITH NO RE JETING AND THEY ARE GREAT!

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY SOME PLACES TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO RE JET.

I also run the K&N air filters. No re-jetting has been required. The bike runs fine.

did not think to ask about exhaust when you added the K&N's,so i guess i should ask if you had any exhaust upgrades because i have always used the rule of thumb that as long as you are naturally asperated you can not take in more than you can put out and would not need rejetted without exhaust.

I have the k&n's on my starglide and no rejet and also have pipes and runs awesome............

I've got the chrome covers on my 2005 RSTD. Put the K & S filters in as the stock filters wouldn't fit (actually says this in the parts catalog). No re-jetting required. Runs great.
