Venturous Randy Posted November 7, 2010 #2 Posted November 7, 2010 It is located above the front cylinders between bottom of the battery box and steering. The best thing to do is just remove the hoses from the ports where they go into the heads below the carbs and put some heavy duty caps and clamps on them. It is easy to do except for one that is hard to get to. I took my YICS off a couple of years ago and wish I had done it sooner. RandyA
Dragonslayer Posted November 8, 2010 #3 Posted November 8, 2010 Hi All Im just woundering what the YCIS chamber is located and what its job on the bike I have a 83VR. Bull463I'm not exactly sure and I could be wrong but I think it has something to do with creating an air flow ventura in the intake boots causing the gas to be delivered more efficiently to the cylinders somehow. my recolection is that the general census of opinion is that the system had little if any affect and was dead weight and in the way. Yamaha evidently agreed because they did away with it on the MKII 1986 models. Now please if any of you out there more knowledgable on the subject, and I'm inaccurate on this please jump in and correct me. Enquiring minds want to know.
