GolfVenture Posted November 3, 2010 #1 Posted November 3, 2010 I removed the Trunk Mirror out of the trunk so I could fix the mirror hinges. In so doing the 4 mirror bolts dropped somewhere into the Back Rest. I was wonder if someone can point me to a thread as to how best to retrieve the Trunk Mirror Bolts. I searched for Trunk Mirror but found nothing very helpful.
Guest Ken8143 Posted November 4, 2010 #2 Posted November 4, 2010 If I recall correctly, you need to remove the back rest to retrieve the nuts. And it is a bit of a struggle to get them back on again!
mbrood Posted November 4, 2010 #3 Posted November 4, 2010 I just removed the backrest (from inside the trunk) and then you have full access.
GolfVenture Posted November 4, 2010 Author #4 Posted November 4, 2010 Thank You. I got it back together. I do have a suggestion for others. When I disassembled the mirror. I took the 4 nuts off, then came off the 4 metal washer, then came off the 4 flexible rubber washers. Then the Mirror came off. As the Mirror came off is when the 4 bolts fell behind the back rest. When I reassembled, with the back rest off I put the 4 mirror screws in thru the back of the trunk and then immediately put the 4 flexible rubber washers on the mirror screws inside the trunk. I screwed the rubber washers until the screw was tight against the trunk. In the way when I take the mirror off in the future the rubber washers will keep the 4 mirror screws from falling into the back rest. Then I reassembled everything back to gether..
Evan Posted November 4, 2010 #5 Posted November 4, 2010 I just removed the backrest (from inside the trunk) and then you have full access. I also lost a nut when removing my mirror and did the same as mbrood, which I found quite easy to do.
