Guest Bigin Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Jeremy thanks for that info. Looking at the rear shock, appears to be ok maybe a spring needed. that is the best price I have seen on the fork springs. Appreciate the info.
ctraylor Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Well Gearhead, it is loud enough to make the Harleys look but quite enough for comfort when cruising with the radio on. It only gets kind of loud when you really get into it then it talks to you and the Harleys. I got tired of the Harleys pulling up beside me and racking their pipes. They pay attention now because there is not a bike out there that sounds like these do
Guest hotrod355 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I changed the pipes on my 89 and the center stand hit the ground in nearly every corner. I took the center stand off and put it on the shelf. Not hard to put back on for maint.
Guest hotrod355 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I have stright pipes on my 89 with 3in chrome tips....The harley riders hear me now when i pass them lol.
spear Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I put a set of Samson pipes on my 04 a couple of weeks ago. The exhaust gasket collar on the left side just came out with the original muffler. The other one stuck hard and fast to the pipe and I had to slip a fine blade between them to remove the gasket. It distorted it a bit, and I don't think I'll be able to re-use it if I should ever think of re-installing the originals. Probably won't. The sound of the bike now is bl00dy awesome.
