BigBear Posted October 30, 2010 #1 Posted October 30, 2010 Quick question... Can you install the Speedbleeders WITHOUT draining the reservoirs? It seems like there would be enough vacuum from the reservoir being closed...that once you remove the old bleeder valve, you might get a little leakage...but that shouldn't drain the reservoir...should it? You expert opinion would be greatly appreciated!
cb1313 Posted October 30, 2010 #2 Posted October 30, 2010 I just flushed my 2005 ventures brakes and clutch system this week. All need to do is be quick.... remove the old bleeder and install the new ones, maybe bleed the system just a little. cb
KiteSquid Posted October 30, 2010 #3 Posted October 30, 2010 (edited) Yes, I did. A little will run out... so clean it up real good so the fluid wont eat the paint off...... Edited October 30, 2010 by KiteSquid
bongobobny Posted October 30, 2010 #4 Posted October 30, 2010 Yup, that's the trick, be fast!! The bleeder is at the high point of the slave cylinder so no air should get in there, or very very little. You just have to fight good old gravity...
N3FOL Posted October 30, 2010 #5 Posted October 30, 2010 As mentioned, be quick but right on the money. You don't want to crossthread your caliper and clutch bleeder threads. Have an old rug on hand - it will run but not fast enough for you to panic. Congrats on your purchase of SpeedBleeders, they are the best.
