Jerry W Posted October 29, 2010 #2 Posted October 29, 2010 Engine is all blacked out, also looks like a different design on the engine.
Thom Posted October 29, 2010 #4 Posted October 29, 2010 very good photoshop , new vmax motor in a 2nd gen , don't we wish
Freebird Posted October 29, 2010 Author #6 Posted October 29, 2010 You guys are pretty quick. I was just playing around and thought I would build the bike that I want. I just need it in silver. You are right, it is the VMAX engine in the RSV. I just sort of combined two photos that I took off the starmotorcycles site. Or...I could try to convince you all that it is a "spy photo" but I know you are all too smart to fall for that.
SilvrT Posted October 29, 2010 #8 Posted October 29, 2010 Now if you could just add some chrome to that engine.... I'll take one!!
Dano Posted October 29, 2010 #9 Posted October 29, 2010 Keep dreaming Don, maybe by the time you're ready for a trike......
Freebird Posted October 29, 2010 Author #10 Posted October 29, 2010 You know the old saying....beauty is in the eye of the beer holder...I mean beholder.
Sideoftheroad Posted October 29, 2010 #12 Posted October 29, 2010 Dang. I was gonna guess the cb antenna is on the wrong side.
hipshot Posted October 29, 2010 #14 Posted October 29, 2010 don, you ain't any better with "paint schemes", than those Jap engineers! you could have made it SILVER with purple highlights!lol i was gonna say the "rake angle", looked different, and the engine was blacked out, like a C B 900 Honda, but someone beat me to it! just jt:icon_smile_question
Guest Posted October 29, 2010 #17 Posted October 29, 2010 Didnt see any rider floorboards either. But if its a VMAX motor in the 2nd gen (3rd gen?) then ill take it that way!!!
CaptainJoe Posted October 29, 2010 #18 Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) Hey! I like mine black! I can wash my 650 Vstar midnight custom in 5 min. the only thing chrome on that engine is the very top of piston head. With all the chrome on the Venture, its more like 15 and then you do not have the option of skipping the wax job... So, I'll take one in black please. And then it will be a true R S MIDNIGHT Venture! kenw Posted October 29, 2010 #19 Posted October 29, 2010 I may be in the minority, but I think the blacked out engine looks sexy!
etcswjoe Posted October 29, 2010 #20 Posted October 29, 2010 If it would fit in, I would try it. Gary How much modification would you have to do to make it fit?
Freebird Posted October 29, 2010 Author #21 Posted October 29, 2010 It will fit, no problem at all. You just have to re-size it just a bit in any graphics program. Not that I would ever go to the trouble of actually doing it but it would be interesting to take some measurements and see if it would be possible.
Flyinfool Posted October 29, 2010 #22 Posted October 29, 2010 I have a cutting torch, a sledge hammer, and a welder, I say it fits. Would look good in a 1st gen too.
kj5ix Posted October 29, 2010 #23 Posted October 29, 2010 Dang. I was gonna guess the cb antenna is on the wrong side. Thats the first thing I saw too,,,
Iowawegian Posted October 29, 2010 #24 Posted October 29, 2010 I noticed the black out....but what really stood out was the cd changer instead of the cassette!! hehehehe....
