Freebird Posted October 28, 2010 #1 Posted October 28, 2010 When I got my last new laptop, I was unable to install my Corel Draw due to a bad disk. Now I find that I do not have the necessary file format to have the VentureRider mugs screened. All I have is a .jpg file. I need to have it converted to a vector based file in one of these formats. Adobe Illustrator CS4 CorelDraw X3 Freehand MX I also need the colors reversed so that the design and text will be black and the background clear. Do any of you have the graphics software to convert this it for me? If so, I can email you the file or upload it so that you can download it. The file is 570 kb.
ablumny Posted October 28, 2010 #2 Posted October 28, 2010 What version of Corel did you have? For all I get outta this site, ! I'd loan you my set of version 13 and you can use your license OR I will give you my copy of version 9 as I no longer use it. PM me your address if you want either ...if that helps... andrew
Freebird Posted October 28, 2010 Author #3 Posted October 28, 2010 LOL....we missed all the way around. I have version 12. I don't use it often enough to buy a new copy but do need this one file converted.
Bummer Posted October 28, 2010 #5 Posted October 28, 2010 Inkscape will do it. It's free, open source, and available for Windows. File / Import. Path / Trace Bitmap. Increase the colors in the Trace Bitmap window. (This increases resolution, which also increases file size.) Click Update in the Trace Bitmap window with each change. Save in EPS format.
Freebird Posted October 28, 2010 Author #6 Posted October 28, 2010 File emailed Monty. Thanks. I'll also check out that program Bummer.
ablumny Posted October 28, 2010 #7 Posted October 28, 2010 No prob. Let me know if I can help any other way....
etcswjoe Posted October 28, 2010 #8 Posted October 28, 2010 I might be able to help, I have a few programs that may be able to convert if Monty can't.
hdroyer Posted October 28, 2010 #9 Posted October 28, 2010 Don we have full version of photo shop, Gail is very good with this program she is rated photographic specialist I am sure she could do it.
Monty Posted October 28, 2010 #10 Posted October 28, 2010 PM sent. I used Photoshop CS3 to convert it to EPS format. You should now be able to open it with Adobe Illustrator.
Flyinfool Posted October 28, 2010 #11 Posted October 28, 2010 Don Something else to look into. Many software companies will replace a damaged disk for fairly cheap, if you actually own a registered license, and send them the damaged disk. Something to look into.
Monty Posted October 28, 2010 #12 Posted October 28, 2010 Trying to find out why the EPS file is so much bigger.(47mb) Here it is in PDF format...
