stereo trouble...

my 2000 radio just began crackling when i pull the clutch to downshift. i did wash the bike before this happened; however, even before i washed it it would cut out occasionaly. any thoughts. thanks

with the control head for the radio mounted at the clutch handle,

my guess would be a chafed wire in that area.

It could be a coincidence but you might want to split the fairing and

check your connections for the stereo system.
