CaptainJoe Posted October 26, 2010 #26 Posted October 26, 2010 Mikey, I'm with you on the boat shoes. For some reason they are very grippy on a boat but on smooth macadum?/ concrete they are an accident looking for a place to happen.
bongobobny Posted October 26, 2010 #27 Posted October 26, 2010 I wish I could say "Today nothing will happen" or "Today a deer will run in front of me, or a driver will cut me off"... BUT I CAN'T Unfortunately I do not know what may happen every time I ride, so I dress accordingly. I wish I could say "I don't give a Rat's A$$ what you wear or don't wear, including a helmet when you ride" BUT I CAN'T Unfortunately I know life is a precious gift from God and that he loves all of us regardless, and so do I. I can not help but to care about each and every one of you and just pray that you have a safe journey every time, and if you do not, that you had the sense to be prepared for the worst...
straycatt Posted October 27, 2010 #28 Posted October 27, 2010 Ya know, I just spent the last hour and half pecking out a well thought out and researched reply to some of the points brought up here.....and then I deleted it all, because it really doesn't matter. I'm not going to apologize for having and expressing my opinion. I'm not of the polite Politically Correct mainstream. I'm a rider, which should mean that in a circle of other riders, we can all take (and give) it for what it's worth. At any rate I'll suffice to say this..... It's your life, don't let anyone tell you how to live it.

I didnt post this thread to upset anyone or to try to get my opinion or Belt Drive Bettys opinion across, but I thought it was well written enough to share with people in here as I felt that sometimes we dont give our passengers all the info when they travel with those of us that ride. Most bikers have all the info they need to make up their own mind how they want to dress, and I agree with you it is definitely their choice. But we should always take the time to make sure our passengers know all the risks before they get on. Brian
