Well, my battery lasted 5 riding seasons but now needs to be replaced. Does anyone have any recommmendations for a good replacement?

This summer there was discussion at one of the meet & eats about a gel battery. Has anyone bought one and, if so, how do you like it so far?

I stick to stock; I've tried to buy some things that everybody says is better, and gottin myself into trouble. You can but what you think is better, and still have problems along the way. My first battery and voltage regulator on my 99 RSV went bad after 3 1/2 years because the stator was pumping out 16.8 volts and fried everything. All of this was replaced under warranty, and that was 3 1/2 years ago :whistling:. Hummm, I wonder if I'm running on barrowed time? :confused24: Now that I've brought it up, I'll be worrying about it till I get through the Veterans Day Parade I'm in at Fresno. I guess I'll try to keep a positive mind.:thumbsup2: Let's hope that positive works for rain too, going to be a question mark about that time.:mustache: :7_6_3[1]: Just got through with the VDP in Pleasanton yesterday.

hey Floyd

my gel lasted about 11 months. that was an expensive test, it cost around 170-180 buckeroos. i replaced it with a whatever yamiha passed me over the counter wet cell battery for 60 bucks. it seems to start easier too, more cranking juice? i can three wet cell batteries for the price of one gel cell. just my 2 cents worth.

cheers, Scott

Floyd I had to replace my bikes battery last spring. and it was only 2 years old.

Bought a wet cell type from Murray's Auto. They usually have em in stock too

Floyd this the oddessy Battery all of us are using. Much better than stock. It has a much deeper cycle and more crank amps. Very much worth it and the price is good too. This is who I bought mine from. Since its dry cell is no maintainance and has a great warranty too. Had it in for 2 years so far and beyond satisfied!!!
