GigaWhiskey Posted October 20, 2010 #1 Posted October 20, 2010 I know I have seen some before, can't find any. I know there was one that for sale about a year ago. No I don't want one, just some pics.
Black Owl Posted October 20, 2010 #2 Posted October 20, 2010 If I remember correctly, it was from the CHP...
Freebird Posted October 21, 2010 #3 Posted October 21, 2010 I swear there was a picture of one posted here at one time but I can't find it now. I think it was a post to one that somebody found for sale somewhere. Very low mileage that had only been used for parades or something.

Don. are you sure that wasn't my brothers KZ1000? his had low mileage, and was only used as an "escort/parade" bike.police chief figured if the south Texas drug runners would ram an F250 pick-up, they wouldn't hesitate to take out a bike. just jt
Freebird Posted October 21, 2010 #5 Posted October 21, 2010 No, I remember that one also. There was also a Venture though.
Rocket Posted October 21, 2010 #6 Posted October 21, 2010 No, I remember that one also. There was also a Venture though. The 1st gen black & white, that was part of a police auction, about 2 years ago.
Yammer Dan Posted October 21, 2010 #7 Posted October 21, 2010 Yeah I remember that. No idea where it is.
Condor Posted October 21, 2010 #8 Posted October 21, 2010 I think the police Venture was sold on Ebay 3-4 years ago... And if I remember correctly it came from a retired small town police chief somewhere here in Northern California. When he retired he took the bike with him. He only used it in parades etc., so not many miles on it.... Wish I had copied the pics....
Monty Posted October 21, 2010 #9 Posted October 21, 2010 I think this might be the thread in question, but no pic is available anymore. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21638&highlight=police+venture
saltcreep Posted October 21, 2010 #10 Posted October 21, 2010 My '92 was a retired police bike from Millbrook, AL (I think, or Montgomery) and I purchased it from ebay in March. Pictures, but it didn't come with anything police like, like lights, etc.. It was just a stock Royale, without the trunk, cb or radio equipment. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=big&p=6422#photo I plan on painting it this next summer when it gets too hot to ride.
KarlS Posted October 21, 2010 #11 Posted October 21, 2010 When I restored a 1979 CX500 Honda I knew they were used by the Police also and wanted to paint it that way. I went back and looked on the History of Police Motorcycles web site and only Yamaha's used that I could find was FJR's, a 650 in line 4 cylinder, and a scooter. Maybe that Venture was a small town bike that Police Department customized on their own. Picture of CX500 I did. Used the Bahamas paint scheme.
BigBoyinMS Posted October 21, 2010 #12 Posted October 21, 2010 I found these 2nd Gens while looking. They belong to the Taiwan Military Police Command. http://mp.rocmp.org/weapon/yamaha.jpg http://mp-rocmp.myweb.hinet.net/weapon/pic/lin2.jpg
SilvrT Posted October 21, 2010 #13 Posted October 21, 2010 I found these 2nd Gens while looking. They belong to the Taiwan Military Police Command. It's no wonder Yamaha doesn't bring out a new model .... they have all the sales they need of this one over in Taiwan .... we're nuffin but small potatoes!!!

Gary N. Posted October 21, 2010 #16 Posted October 21, 2010 Did you notice in the second picture the bikes don't have the lower fairing? Could they be the Tour Deluxe with a RSV fairing?
Aussie Annie Posted October 22, 2010 #17 Posted October 22, 2010 Now I'm not saying anything here but????? I have been looking on google and everywhere for a picture of a 1st gen police bike and then it occured to me? When was the camera invented???? Capt-D Posted October 22, 2010 #19 Posted October 22, 2010 Do you think they would come to a M&E if we invited them? Maybe they would come to Freebird's maintenance day?:rotfl:
MikeZ06Allen Posted October 22, 2010 #20 Posted October 22, 2010 Now I'm not saying anything here but????? I have been looking on google and everywhere for a picture of a 1st gen police bike and then it occured to me? When was the camera invented???? Bryan As I recall about the same year as your birth
RandyR Posted October 22, 2010 #21 Posted October 22, 2010 Did you notice in the second picture the bikes don't have the lower fairing? Could they be the Tour Deluxe with a RSV fairing? Appears to be an early Royal Star with Venture fairing. Although the first picture is clearly a RSV http://mp-rocmp.myweb.hinet.net/weapon/pic/ya.jpg
Yammer Dan Posted October 22, 2010 #22 Posted October 22, 2010 Nice to know that if we take our 1st Gens there for Vacation we can outrun the Law!!!:rotfl: Not that I would ever think of outrunning a Trooper on a 2nd Gen!!!!
RandyR Posted October 22, 2010 #23 Posted October 22, 2010 I wonder what year those Taiwanese MP Royal Stars were made? Wouldn't it be interesting if it was 1997-98 and they special ordered some of the early Royal Stars but with a then-custom faring on them. Yamaha then turned the fairing with other enhancements into the 2nd Gen RSV. Can anyone tell from the picture if thats an early Royal Star tank and frame or a new version frame?
bryan52577 Posted October 22, 2010 #24 Posted October 22, 2010 As I recall about the same year as your birth OUCH, no wait,,,,,, sometimes I do feel that old. You may be right? But I am still going to start looking for oil paintings and if I can't find one on that, it will just have to be a cave drawing I guess? Bryan
