I swear there was a picture of one posted here at one time but I can't find it now. I think it was a post to one that somebody found for sale somewhere. Very low mileage that had only been used for parades or something.

Don. are you sure that wasn't my brothers KZ1000?

his had low mileage, and was only used as an "escort/parade" bike.police chief figured if the south Texas drug runners would ram an F250 pick-up, they wouldn't hesitate to take out a bike.

No, I remember that one also. There was also a Venture though.

The 1st gen black & white, that was part of a police auction, about 2 years ago.

I think the police Venture was sold on Ebay 3-4 years ago... And if I remember correctly it came from a retired small town police chief somewhere here in Northern California. When he retired he took the bike with him. He only used it in parades etc., so not many miles on it.... Wish I had copied the pics....

My '92 was a retired police bike from Millbrook, AL (I think, or Montgomery) and I purchased it from ebay in March.

Pictures, but it didn't come with anything police like, like lights, etc.. It was just a stock Royale, without the trunk, cb or radio equipment.

I plan on painting it this next summer when it gets too hot to ride.

When I restored a 1979 CX500 Honda I knew they were used by the Police also and wanted to paint it that way. I went back and looked on the History of Police Motorcycles web site and only Yamaha's used that I could find was FJR's, a 650 in line 4 cylinder, and a scooter. Maybe that Venture was a small town bike that Police Department customized on their own.

Picture of CX500 I did. Used the Bahamas paint scheme.

Did you notice in the second picture the bikes don't have the lower fairing? Could they be the Tour Deluxe with a RSV fairing?

Also note the dual sirens mounted..... Must be LOUD.... I wish my horns were that loud.

Appears to be an early Royal Star with Venture fairing. Although the first picture is clearly a RSV

I wonder what year those Taiwanese MP Royal Stars were made? Wouldn't it be interesting if it was 1997-98 and they special ordered some of the early Royal Stars but with a then-custom faring on them. Yamaha then turned the fairing with other enhancements into the 2nd Gen RSV.

Can anyone tell from the picture if thats an early Royal Star tank and frame or a new version frame?

But I am still going to start looking for oil paintings and if I can't find one on that, it will just have to be a cave drawing I guess? :buttkick:
