For some reason, Yahoo has decided that a bunch of outfits I receive regular email from should now go into my spam folder! Funny thing is, it's not sending all of them there. I've gotten some of the thread postings in my inbox, but not all of them, so I missed Ponch's offer to work on the Wee Beastie but not Squidley's reply to it! Both dumb and weird at the same time. I also got a phishing email from someone on my Paypal account but for some reason, supposedly too many recipients [only one], Yahoo won't let me forward it to Paypal. I'll keep trying as those darn things are just too dangerous to let pass. Lunch [or maybe even dinner!!] offer for working on the Wee Beastie still stands!! Just let me know when you're coming!

We had a fun breakfast at the local Denny's and headed for my place to check out the bike. I knew it had gotten cold the night before but not so cold that the dew had formed ice drops on the seat! The Wee Beastie did not want to start so we loaded her up on the Squid's trailer and Ponch headed for home. Today carbs are cleaned out and new plugs installed. He's gotten it running but it's not running right so Ponch is still at it. Ponch

If you don't know, Hurricane Ike created what we in FEMA call "Salt Water Trees". That is, the storm surge salted the soil, the trees ate the salt, and died. Galveston's solution to this disaster is to create sculptures from the dead trees. They are scattered across the island, and some are quite remarkable. They are worth seeing. So today, I tracked down the brochure (PDF) and spent a bit of time creating a POI file for them. The attached file contains the locations in MapSource, POI (gpx), and Google Earth KMZ formats. The trees are numbered according to the brochure, and located using the published address. Caveat utilitor. I hope this helps out y'all heading to the rally! Dave

A few of us are meeting in Katy @ 0700 and heading down 99 to 45 or where ever it comes out, never been that way before, but I`m not leading so all is good. and then we are meeting the others at the Mex.rest. You bringing the better half?? If work don't get in the way and creek don't rise , I'm leaving here fri. and coming back sun. where is everybody going to meet , the Mex. rest. ?
