windsheild mounting kit

i have a 97 royal star tour classic . it has a very short windsheild on it and was wanting to go to a taller one but cant find a mounting kit that will bolt to the motorcycle. wondering if the 05 royal star tour deluxe front forks and mounting kits are the same?

Nope, if the windshield you have now is a Yahama, the same mounts will work with a taller windshield. Yamaha made the Royal Star you have now until 2000 and discontinued that model them came out with the new model in 2005 and the windshields are not even close to the same.

ahh ok thks. figured i couldnt get by that easy, i think my windsheild must be a aftermarket add-on from the way it looks. i talked to clearview shields today about there shield and had him find out about the spacing and bolt pattern on there shield. theres has five bolts across the top and 2 extra holes the one currently on my bike only has 4 holes across the top to mount the upper crome too. So looks like i gotta find some new hardware. Or drill some new holes ;[
