Richard Connell Posted October 14, 2010 #1 Posted October 14, 2010 I having a prob. with my highway lights I have check the seal beams which seem to be okay I'm just wondering if this is covered under the Yamaha Warranty I think it could be a wiring Prob ?
LilBeaver Posted October 14, 2010 #2 Posted October 14, 2010 You don't really give us a whole lot of information here to help you out. All I can do is sort of answer your question. The highway/passing/auxillary lamps are not covered under the 5 year unlimited mileage deal; HOWEVER, if they are the OEM lamps purchased and installed via an official Yamaha dealer they DO have a warranty (parts, labor, etc). Check you paperwork and see. Or, you could give us a little more info to go on and we can probably help
Mel Posted October 14, 2010 #3 Posted October 14, 2010 If the lights simply do not come on, check the little push-button switch by the 12V outlet. Maybe the light switch is turned off? If they are intermittently on/off, yeh, probably wiring. Maybe a pinched wire. If you give a better description of your problem the gurus here can do a better job of suggesting cures. May be blown fuse, possibly a defective relay, or a loose wire?
Richard Connell Posted October 14, 2010 Author #4 Posted October 14, 2010 :Venture:The seal beams are ok and I checked the switch . I checked the fuses but couldn't find what the passing lamps are under in the fuse box or are they on there own . Rick
kj5ix Posted October 16, 2010 #5 Posted October 16, 2010 If they were installed as per the instructions, you are going to have to split the faring to check out the wiring, that is all there to it.... If they were not installed per the instructions you may have to strip it half way down just to find out how it was wired. Either way the faring is coming apart,,,,

Gary N. Posted October 16, 2010 #7 Posted October 16, 2010 If installed per factory instructions there should be an in-line fuse behind the fairing in the area of the on/off switch wires.
