Freebird Posted October 13, 2010 #26 Posted October 13, 2010 Geezzz...you don't have to take your ball and go home. I understand your points...I just don't necessarily agree with all of them. Some folks really like the Macs...some don't. That's why we have choices. It doesn't bother me at all that you like them and want to recommend them but at the same time, don't get bent out of shape if some folks don't agree. Many of the things that you mention are also available for the PC. A LOT of "creative" people now use nothing but the PC, they are about as capable as the Mac now days. I call on creative people every day in my business. Mostly graphic design companies, sign companies, architects, etc. I would say that well over 90% of them use a PC. I will agree that 10-15 years ago, the Mac was the hands down favorite for those creative tasks but just as you say that the Mac is far different than it was years ago, the PC has become much more competitive than it was years ago in for those creative tasks.
BuddyRich Posted October 13, 2010 #27 Posted October 13, 2010 I would not use Carbonite if they paid me. Use an external drive and disconnect it when not in backup or restore mode.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted October 13, 2010 #28 Posted October 13, 2010 I just felt like I was repeating myself...and the point was moot anyway. No worries, mate!
friesman Posted October 13, 2010 #29 Posted October 13, 2010 I just felt like I was repeating myself...and the point was moot anyway. No worries, mate! Thats why the manufacturers make all the different stuff,...so we all have something that we like. i appreciate that you like macs, its kinda like the choices in bikes. We all drive what we like. and its always better than the next guys choice.... Brian
Gray Ghost Posted October 14, 2010 #30 Posted October 14, 2010 Even when you get a virus or malware, you may find that if you do some searching that you can find a way to remove the problem without relying on a computer store. I ended up with the Security Tool malware, but after looking at a couple of sites I found the instructions that helped me clean the box right up. No lost files, or reformatting needed.
MikeWa Posted October 14, 2010 #31 Posted October 14, 2010 Try CCleaner. It is a free program to help you remove malware etc. Pick the areas you want to analyze then clean the ones that need it. It can also clean up and delete cookies and temporary files etc. It is a pretty powerful tool so read the help files. Mike http://www.piriform.com/

sgn Posted October 14, 2010 #33 Posted October 14, 2010 Mac - pcs Ford - Chevy 1st Gen - 2nd Gen red - blue They are all choices and I for one am glad that I have that freedom. If I choose different from you, it doesn't make you wrong or me right. It is a choice and we all can make them. After we do, we live with the consequences, good are bad. It's part of who we are. To all that have made the ability for me to have choices - Thank you!
Guest tx2sturgis Posted October 29, 2010 #34 Posted October 29, 2010 Once you go Mac, you never go back: http://money.cnn.com/2010/10/27/technology/microsoft_pdc/index.htm
