 Hello everyone I'm new to this site and I like it , very informative.

I bought an 09 RSV in January and have loged about 16000 kms. since then, love the bike. The only thing so far that kind of anoys me , is the whine from the front tire. It does not matter wether i'm leaning left or right that loud whine comes up through the forks and it drives me nuts. I'll be changing tires in the spring .Any recomendations on quiet front tires? Thanks Gus...

Most likely your problem is the REAR tire, not the front. This is especially true if your bike came with the HORRIBLE Brickstone tires. Get something better on there ASAP, like E3s or Venoms, and you will be absolutely blown away by how much better the bike handles.

Thanks for the reply Goose .

Who makes the E3s?

Thanks Freebird , will look into that.:fatsmiley:

Just a note...you may want to go for the E3's. There is a lot written here on the VR site on the Avon Venoms with tire sidewall cracking. Do your research. :080402gudl_prv:

I switched to Metzlers front and rear not long after I got my 08.

It helped some but I still get noise leaning left or right.

I wear ear plugs when riding and that helps!

When I just got my '07 in '08, I started to develop a whine noise at certain speeds with the rear tire wearing uneven on the sides as I put more miles on the tire. The whine started at around 7K miles ... again at certain speeds...My rear lasted for a good 11.5K miles and replaced them with the same OEM Bridgestones, G702 tire. I re-greased all the splines and at times got carried away with putting too much. My tire was mounted and balanced by a reputable bike mechanic and after 8K miles later, I no longer have any whine noise (knocking on wood). I think it disappeared...Anyway, there are many speculation about what may cause a whine but I am not totally convinced yet that the true cause has been identified. At any rate, you should look forward to your first 'greasing of the splines' and hopefully your whine may disappear just like mine.
