kevin-vic-b.c. Posted October 9, 2010 #1 Posted October 9, 2010 A short question...... what is the S in the new Venture model ? So when I look at a Venture with no S what am I missing out on ? Thanks, you guys are always great here.
DONATALIE Posted October 9, 2010 #2 Posted October 9, 2010 In a word, CHROME. I believe its only on the front end, forks, sliders, etc. I have a 2000 RSV, which of course, does not have the chrome front end. I think the Midnight edition from 2005-2007 also had the chrome front end. That's the only difference, I think. If I'm wrong about that, I'm sure other will let us know, but I'm pretty sure I'm not. Don

Aussie Annie Posted October 9, 2010 #5 Posted October 9, 2010 Yep, yep & yep:thumbsup: Safety Chrome:big-grin-emoticon:
Celt Posted October 9, 2010 #6 Posted October 9, 2010 i have a 08 RSV S supposedly the S means more chrome ,hence S = Shiney well thats what the sales guy said
oldgoat Posted October 9, 2010 #7 Posted October 9, 2010 in my case soon as i came into the show room S= sucker paid a fortune for that plastic chrome LOL
jfoster Posted October 9, 2010 #8 Posted October 9, 2010 I've been impressed with Yamaha's chrome...no rust or flaking issues...the chrome forks still clean up nice with 24k miles of bugs and debrie.
Mariner Fan Posted October 9, 2010 #9 Posted October 9, 2010 Seems they have a bike with the chrome forks and one without. My 07 Midnight was chromed.
jfoster Posted October 9, 2010 #10 Posted October 9, 2010 You'll see the difference if you get em side by side...the front end is all chrome on the midnight and S models, and the housing for the switches are chromed. Other than that the rest is the same. Supposedly the midnight and S models are worth $500 to $600 more.

I am seeing closer to 7-800 $ more here but chrome is a good thing as long as the wife thinks I had no choice, it all came with the bike dear ! I am just dreaming out loud right now, if push comes to shove, I can live without chrome at first as long as the rest of the goodies are there.
