BT Interphone

i recently purchased the BT Interphone and i am having difficulty in the pairing mode (bluetooth). directions say to hold Power/Interphone button until the LED flashed red/blue alternately. i cannot get the red/blue to flash at all. the user manual is not very clear and i found some instructions on the internet which says pairing is done with the system off, say what ??? any ideas............
