phertwo Posted October 5, 2010 #1 Posted October 5, 2010 I think I'd want to buy one of these bikes for fun (Kikker Hardknock). Apparently its around $2000, comes in a kit that you have to build yourself. I don't know if its junk or what, but it sure looks pretty! It probably weighs as much as one of my saddle bags off my RSTD. http://www.kikker5150.com/200.17.jpg
hunter 1500 Posted October 5, 2010 #2 Posted October 5, 2010 They were selling those for about a grand a couple of years ago.
Freebird Posted October 5, 2010 #3 Posted October 5, 2010 I will just recommend that you do your homework. They do look cool but from the research I have done, they are really very poorly made Chinese junk. There are also a LOT of complaints online about the owner, Kelly Kikkert.
phertwo Posted October 6, 2010 Author #5 Posted October 6, 2010 Very true. I figured that they use pretty cheap parts as its a cheap bike. I'm not planning on getting one, but I just thought it funny that the price of this bike is cheaper than some of the accessories I have put on my royal. I'd love to have a little bike for just cruising around town though. Something light and fun, 250 is more than enough. Cheap is good. Free would be great.
barend Posted October 6, 2010 #6 Posted October 6, 2010 friend of mine figured he'd be a dealer and sell them things, bought five and discovered he could not get them titled! And the guy selling the kits told him it wasn't his problem......
phertwo Posted October 6, 2010 Author #7 Posted October 6, 2010 That's just nasty. I'm sure that's probably happened to quite a few people.
Condor Posted October 6, 2010 #8 Posted October 6, 2010 friend of mine figured he'd be a dealer and sell them things, bought five and discovered he could not get them titled! And the guy selling the kits told him it wasn't his problem...... I find this kinda curious. What's the difference between building and titling a custom made up of 'parts', and this kit, which is also a bunch of 'parts'. It can't be sold as a complete bike, because it ain't...
naturbar Posted October 6, 2010 #9 Posted October 6, 2010 friend of mine figured he'd be a dealer and sell them things, bought five and discovered he could not get them titled! And the guy selling the kits told him it wasn't his problem...... EXACT same thing with a friend of mine, bought six....he did eventually get rid of them but what a PITB is was. buyer beware............
eagleeye Posted October 6, 2010 #10 Posted October 6, 2010 I'd like to know who makes those tires and what size they are Steve
Dave3 Posted October 6, 2010 #11 Posted October 6, 2010 Find a frame in a junk yard and build your own. It would be easier to title.
eagleeye Posted October 6, 2010 #12 Posted October 6, 2010 Actually I did, but I kinda like the looks of the spoke wheels and tires. Steve
naturbar Posted October 6, 2010 #13 Posted October 6, 2010 I'd like to know who makes those tires and what size they are Steve if memory serves right - those are junk Chinese tires........
phertwo Posted October 7, 2010 Author #14 Posted October 7, 2010 Yes, I've read in another forum that those tires are not street legal. People that want to get these bikes street legal have to replace many items just to get it on the road - including the tires.
