Hummingbird Posted October 5, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 5, 2010 This might be part of the reason my electric bill is so high ! I have a 25' flag pole in my yard and have a 500watt Mercury Vapor on a photo eye. Linda likes to plant flowers around the pole and the heat of the day along with the heat from the light all night make for quite a good growing environment. betcha can't guess where the photo eye is ?? Marcarl Posted October 5, 2010 Share #4 Posted October 5, 2010 Maybe best to get FreeBird over there to cut the grass, he has his ways with things in the middle of the yard,,, but mostly he gets wet doing it,,, of course this would be a whole lot easier and then you wouldn't need to take the blame,,, and the Missus will think twice to give 'company' the dickens. This post will self destruct in 12 hours,,,,,,, I hope.
BoomerCPO Posted October 5, 2010 Share #5 Posted October 5, 2010 Dang man.... that Flag could use a lot less light than that and still make your Flag look great at night. Boomer....who sez having a pygmie with a big flashlight might do the trick nicely.
Hummingbird Posted October 5, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted October 5, 2010 If I weren't so darn lazy I'd just wire in one of the timers I have lying around. I think there's 3 of them in the shed - that way the flowers could have their heat at night and the light would shut off at daylight when it's supposed to.
