tufftom4 Posted September 30, 2010 #1 Posted September 30, 2010 I did not go on the M/C even after rushing to get the parts for it, the weather was to nasty so I took the truck with my 4 legged kids to Alexander Springs ( Ocala National Forest) I bought an old Sears canvas tent from an estate sale years ago for 10$ and never set it up till this week, all the parts were there but took a while to figure out, it was waterproof with all the rain we had. This was my first trip there and it was nice, the water was crystal clear but cold, I will go back again.

tufftom4 Posted September 30, 2010 Author #3 Posted September 30, 2010 They took a 9ft one out the day before I got there otherwise I would have taken it out myself...lol
BigBear Posted October 1, 2010 #4 Posted October 1, 2010 TuffTom4; Are the campsites in Ocala Forest primitive? The wife and I are looking to start camping again, but we like the creature comforts (hot showers...maybe electricity) We've ridden through the Ocala Forest...but never camped there. It's about a 3-4 hour ride for an overnighter...so it's something we are really considering in the next several weeks. Thanks! BigBear
Capt-D Posted October 1, 2010 #5 Posted October 1, 2010 After talking to you was wondering whose kids you had, had to laugh when I realized it was your dogs. Nice thing about that is you don't have to keep them entertained.
tufftom4 Posted October 1, 2010 Author #6 Posted October 1, 2010 There are several campgrounds in Ocala here is the link and if you click on a campground it will tell you what the have and then click on the photo's multimedia section on the right hand side and it will show pics of it. The campground I went to had showers and running water at certain places in the park it also had a little store that sold snacks and soda and they sold ice and firewood but when I woke the first morning and forgot to pack the eggs I had to drive 7 miles to the nearest country store. http://www.fs.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsinternet/!ut/p/c4/04_SB8K8xLLM9MSSzPy8xBz9CP0os3gDfxMDT8MwRydLA1cj72BTSw8jAwjQL8h2VAQAng7kaQ!!/?ss=110816&navtype=BROWSEBYSUBJECT&cid=FSE_003705&navid=110130000000000&pnavid=110000000000000&position=BROWSEBYSUBJECT&recid=32295&actid=29&ttype=activity&pname=Ocala%2520National%2520Forest%2520-%2520Campground%2520Camping
