Bobby G Posted September 30, 2010 #1 Posted September 30, 2010 The wife and I took a ride up through the N. GA, NC and TN mountains yesterday, and it was fabulous. The weather was awesome, no traffic, clear sunny skies, wide open roads. Gonna keep this in mind for later in Oct. when the colors are at full peak of their changeover. Some of our traveled roads included US19, US129 (the Dragon), US64, Foothills Pky., SR73, and US441. Traversed the Chattahoochee Nat. Forest, the Nantahala, the Smokies and the Cherokee Nat. Forests. Bought some nice boots at the outlet in Pigeon Forge, and dodged an unexpected rain event by heading west through Maryville TN and back south to the ATL. A little scary coming down US411 at night with all the bugs and threat of deer bolting out of the blue (guess my deer whistle worked! LOL!), but we got back to the ranch 13 hours after we started in one piece and happy we stole the day. Can't wait to do it again! Here's some pics.

RandyR Posted September 30, 2010 #3 Posted September 30, 2010 I went north up US441 last month and there were a herd of large elk (I think they were elk) off to the east side of the road with lots of cars stopped to take pictures. Its a beautiful ride.
