rod Posted November 2, 2007 #1 Posted November 2, 2007 I have a question on 2 part primer. How much catalyst do use per oz. of paint? I need to make small batches and could not find the answers on the manufacturers website. Thanks Rod
RustyRecycledToy Posted November 2, 2007 #3 Posted November 2, 2007 depends on the primer. One of the primers I use are 4:1 ratio, while another is 2:1, while another is 3:1. What specific primer are you referring to?
SilvrT Posted November 3, 2007 #4 Posted November 3, 2007 . Seein as you got the background... got a question for ya... does one have to be concerned about the cfm delivery capacity of a compressor when using a gravity feed paint gun?
Redneck Posted November 3, 2007 #5 Posted November 3, 2007 Seein as you got the background... got a question for ya... does one have to be concerned about the cfm delivery capacity of a compressor when using a gravity feed paint gun?Yes most automotive type guns will need 7 to 12 cfm for constant spray.
rod Posted November 3, 2007 Author #6 Posted November 3, 2007 The primer is Polyprimer high fill. With one quart they gave me an 0.5 oz tube of hardener. I assuned that there would be directions for x many drops per x amount of paint. Any one know? Thanks Rod

Thanks Rod I googled it and the mix is 1/2 oz bottle/tube of hardener per 1 quart primer so you'd have to do some calculations for smaller amounts. I didn't see any further instructions on their website. Guess they expect you'd use the whole quart! lol
rod Posted November 3, 2007 Author #8 Posted November 3, 2007 Yea I looked all over the internet and found diddly other than useing the whole can. I guess I will have to do some siferin'. I'll let you know what I come up with. Rod
