Today, I tried to use my cruise control, which normally works well. The set and resume lights lit up and then went out almost immediately. The on light did not come on. When I pushed the black power button again, none of the lights lit up. Every second time I pushed the black button, the same two lights (set and resume) would come on for just a second and then go out. Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

Try pushing the clutch lever out before engaging the cruise. The guys here pointed that out to me. I had to replace the brass pivot and the clutch lever, they were worn and the switch wasn't disengaging.

Every other time you're pushing the button it is turning the system off so you'd expect no lights then.

The behavior of the set and resume lights is normal. Possibly a burned out lamp behind the power light? If it's just a burned out lamp it should still function so you can test by trying to use it.

While I am embarrassed to so so, I am updating this thread because my experience might help someone else. Turns out that my only problem was a burned out green "power on" light bulb. My cruise still works just fine. Wouldn't it be nice if other fixed were that easy!
