CB radio 1992 venture royale

I just purchase 1992 Venture Royale which has the cb that will not come on. The lights work but no number appear, and can not get any sound from the radio. It will not change channels with the unit or with the handle bar controls

OK first the obvious, is the on/off switch on? The switch is on the volume control. Next check the fuse for the CB. The unit lights are on a separate circuit from the actual CB. Ypu should have both a red and an orange wire coming to the CB. With the ignition on you should have 12 volts on both wires...

Trying to locate the fuse for the CB on a 1992 Venture Royale comes on but the number fade out, turn the switch on and off numbers come up for a second and then go out. Or do i need to replace this unit

Sounds to me like you have a bad unit. Perhaps someone here can loan you a known good one and if it works, whoala. Problem solved. BTW, there is a couple on ebay right now. Not cheap but available.
